Naah. Hard plastic. Requires new holes be drilled. But then that leaves a very precariously thin strip of plastic at the front end of the guard and it may snap if taken off road.
Tried it on my bike while aligning the rear wheel 3 months back. Don't know if its a universal issue.

Same with Enticer case as well. Two wide washers will take care of it.

Am going to shift to delhi for my further studies
will be coming back after 9-10 months till then my bike will be here in raipur
and no one is going to ride my bike
any precautions that I should take if I want to leave it standing for 9-10 months???
oil was changed 1500 kms back (motul )
serviced on Feb

will be coming back after 9-10 months till then my bike will be here in raipur
and no one is going to ride my bike

Hey, when I bought it in 2010, I too had to leave it unattended for around 8-9 months. I just disconnected the battery's negative terminal, that's all. The fuel tank was around half, and tires were at factory recommended pressure. I just parked it inside my house and covered it.
When I came back, first think I checked was the electric cables etc for possible rodent bites. After taking outside, it started with a single self start! No tantrums, gotta love the PGMFI.

My ZMR is exactly 5 years and 1 month old, it's still running on the OEM battery. It was parked for around 15 months in total. Around 8 mths in first year, then for 6 in 2012. Recently I was worried that battery might be old, so got it tested. The battery passed the load test with flying colors, no signs of aging at all.
When should I get it changed?
In case the battery is old but not showing it, I wish to change it in advance. I can't bother to get it load tested every month. Please tell me the signs to look out for a failing battery.

Never leave Petrol in Petrol tank for periods longer than 45 days....From the 15th day onwards the Petrol's chemical composition starts to change and degrade. If you had done it before and faced no problems, then thank your Lucky Stars.
The load testing is the way to test the Sealed batteries...once you know it is good , continue to use it...Life of battery is dependent on many variables and cannot be quantified....if the horn becomes weak, or the headlights dim very much when turning on the turn indicators, ..or to be more precise when you do morning starts and hear only a kkrrrr sound from starter relay and the self motor does not turn,........the battery is nearing it's end. I am assuming here that the bike runs for at least 20 Kms everyday and battery charging circuit is in good condition.

@psr sir.. I will be leaving my bike at ASC probably today or tomorrow for the eating up of oil issue (most probably oil rings) what would be the estimation I will be looking at if I need to replace the cylinder kit..

Could anyone please describe what all things are done for free in the free services at the service center? I have to give my bike for service and i'm aware of service center guys trying to charge for everything they do, even labour.

3M petrol additive
Teflon coating etc are few way to charge more from customers. Strictly avoid these.

SVC'c also try to cheat in the name of Drive chain cleaning and break/clutch freeplay check/adjust etc

PS - I was being charged for entire clutch cable change when all I said was just to adjust the free play.

Conclusion - Just be vigilant during the billing.

Bro there is a page in the service manual that is filled and taken by SVC during the service, check behind that page.
There will be a list of "Mandatory checks during service" which has to be taken care of.

It has oil change mentioned but, they do charge for oil change. Likewise, they can charge for any point mentioned there. I want to know the confirmed free things that they need to do in free service.

Every thing mentioned in the list that needs a replacement will be charged eg - engine oil.

Water washing, polishing, clean drive chain and lubing are a few free things.

Consumables are charged.

Engine oil, grease, chain oil, or any tiny nut , bolt washer etc...

Only labor, wash n polish is free.

Cylinder kit,..valves...cost some where near to 4K...where as if you go to camshaft...rockerarm...my touch to 9 K....check the labor charge..they are higher.....
