it may be a minor problem...shall be happening because of service due...

I think disconnecting the ECU from wire socket for say 5 minits will reset it . Or they gonna remap it by connecting to DLC connector ?

Disconnecting the battery for half an hour will reset the ECU.
        Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Does it mean everytime we remove the battery to leave it for charge resets the ECU?? Thats not how its suppose to be, right?? i mean.. that will reset the ECU all the time and will behave differently every time..

              • When Battery is disconnected for 10~15 minutes, The ECU in any Fi engine gets reset ie., looses the memory of the real time drive maps, and gets set to Factory default...As soon as the battery is connected and is driven, the ECU starts to learn and store fresh values . This is a continuous process and happens many time as we vary the driving habit, according to heavy, light and Highway traffic...
If the battery is disconnected for 10~15 minutes the ECU will get reset....
On a stock vehicle, There is no need to change Factory set values or remap a ECU unless the default values are corrupted, or set improperly....otherwise the mere driving of the vehicle will let the ECU learn and store data as required.

Thank you for the detailed explanation sir which means the ECU learns the new driving style everytime the battery is removed for charging, right?? how does it behave? i mean say I have been riding the bike rashly in city.. and i am planning to go for a tour.. if i remove the battery and fix it back after 30 minutes.. the ECU will be in default settings, right?? in this case will the bike behave differently from how it was behaving prior to ECU reset? i mean like better FE etc if my riding style changes (say slow) Not really sure how this works.. often confuses me.. would love your explanation

                  • What PSR sir said, thats how we do it in cars. According to Maruti SVC you pull out battery terminal, and according to Honda SVC there are two fuses you have to pull out.

You dont need to worry that much You run a PGMFi system, which runs both open and close loop depending on throttle input, and even while running in closed loop it will be based on compensations on the base map. IIRC If you go back a few pages you can see many detailed posts in which psr sir had explained about both open and closed loop systems.
