psr, Divya, I checked the air filer and it's spotlessly clean. I tried hard but couldn't find any water in the fuel tank. I know that the Hero 10W30 is crap, but even that crap should have some value till 300 kms...I also checked the viscosity of the oil when hot, and it was good.
The way the bike revs past 50, it feels like fried clutch plates, but how could the clutch plates go kaput in just 800 kms...I mean that's odd if not the bike was used as a test vehicle at the showroom. There are lots of howevers and buts!!!!Current: Hero Karizma ZMR || Royal Enfield Bullet CI
Past: Yamaha Enticer

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
There is no reason why any of the clutch plates or any other part in your new engine wont go kaput.. the component might be faulty even when new !! I had to replace my crank shaft itself (along with many other parts) in my 2 month old ZMR.. therefore nothing is guaranteed..Originally posted by RaajD View Post@psr, @Divya, I checked the air filer and it's spotlessly clean. anyways coming back to your issue, i may suggest you do the following to trace the issue:
1. Ofcourse check any issue with FI system first. Drain every bit of fuel from your bike & refill some new petrol. Just to ensure no more water thing..
2. Get your fuel pump checked..
3. Get all the electrical connections to your fuel pump checked. One faulty connection can cause these issues too.
4. Check your oil filter & ensure it is not clogged with something..
5. Check your spark plug. Ensure it is generating consistent sparks.
6. Check your valve clearance. While too much of clearance can cause tappet sound, literally no clearance would cause severe power loss.
7. Well if you still land up at this step, then you got to open your engine & you need to check your crank shaft, cam shaft & rocker arm.
Oh yes, i forgot to add; check & ensure that there is no air leakage (related to FI issue)Last edited by Bibhudatta; 07-15-2013, 11:31 PM.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
The RPM to Speedo indication in ZMA and ZMR is 16 Kmph for 1,000 RPM, ON 5th GEAR.....If the RPM is more in relation to Kmph then there is definitely clutch slip...if you have clutch slip, check for the 5mm gap at the clutch lever end with the clutch yoke...if it is not there , then it means you are running at half engaged clutch leading to the problem.Originally posted by RaajD View Post@psr, @Divya, I checked the air filer and it's spotlessly clean. Won't the 110/80 decrease the ground clearance of the bike?Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostEven I have psd 110/80 bro. 90 was not there. There's no much difference.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
hello friends ..... am planning to buy the ZMR... i zeroed in for ZMR because of its comfort , PGM Fi and traditional hero honda reliability ..BUT the 2013 model has no honda badging in it... no PGM fi badging ,, i just downloaded the brochure for zmr and was worried to see it was only specified as "fuel injection",, not PGM FI,, i thought the technology contract with honda ended only in 2014,, but why did they take out their technology so soon,,,, and will the split from honda affect the reliability of the bike... 112000 is a lot of money,, if the technologies from honda is offered its totally worth it,,,another part of me tells that the current technology is no different from the older one which honda offered... please clarify this guys
, find my english bad??,, sorry for that,, thanks in advance

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
The technology is the same.. they had to remove every part that had honda on it so all the terms have been changed.. yes.. the bike is reliable with no doubt.. the engine is still a honda based engine.. so don't worry about it...Originally posted by Gulam View Posthello friends ..... am planning to buy the ZMR... i zeroed in for ZMR because of its comfort , PGM Fi and traditional hero honda reliability ..BUT the 2013 model has no honda badging in it... no PGM fi badging ,, i just downloaded the brochure for zmr and was worried to see it was only specified as "fuel injection",, not PGM FI,, i thought the technology contract with honda ended only in 2014,, but why did they take out their technology so soon,,,, and will the split from honda affect the reliability of the bike... 112000 is a lot of money,, if the technologies from honda is offered its totally worth it,,,another part of me tells that the current technology is no different from the older one which honda offered... please clarify this guys

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
My question to you Buddy... did you get the hero guys to check on your bike?? If yes what is their response?? Did you try to take the bike to any other ASC?? If not please do.. they might be able to identify the issue which the other ASC couldn't.. its a new bike.. better shoot a complaint to hero from their website saying they have offered a defective piece and you want them to replace it.. then they will start taking some action to fix the problem asap..Originally posted by RaajD View Postpsr, Divya, I checked the air filer and it's spotlessly clean. OIL COOLED
PGM-FI
FUEL INJECTION
when you read it " PGMFI = Programmed Fuel Injection
below PGMFI Fuel injection was written it seemed stupid from start itself so they finally changed it
now its written as :
OIL COOLED
PROGRAMMED
FI
The Bike has always gone modifications based on appearance alone, no changes were done to the performance.. The bike still runs on HONDA technology
PS: They also removed the HECS sticker and placed a new one which says "Closed Loop Emission control system"Last edited by Raja Saiyan; 07-16-2013, 08:46 AM.sigpic
