Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Sir, let us for a moment consider that its a ZMA we're talking about. So water in petrol should lead to jerky rides all the time right? Or will it be ok till some rev limit?Originally posted by psr View PostCheck for water in Petrol......
This logic because we're talking about carb'ed bikes. How (badly) would it affect FI is out of my little knowledge bank. Pls enlighten!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I think if water is there in the petrol then somewhere the bike would stop & wont start for an indefinite period. Not sure about the exact behavior in case of FI, but in carburetor bikes the bike would start slowing down the moment water comes in contact with the niddle (as it would be floating around). You would revv hard to survive but the issue would continue & bike would stop somewhere.. this has nothing to do with the revv range. The issue would keep resurfacing till the time that water droplet is there inside the carburetor.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostSir, let us for a moment consider that its a ZMA we're talking about. Yes, that would be the last stage when petrol would no longer reach the combustion chamber. But till then the bike should stutter, right? Or will it behave according to engine revs?Originally posted by Bibhudatta View PostI think if water is there in the petrol then somewhere the bike would stop & wont start for an indefinite period.Got a $5 head? I had just edited my post guessing this question..Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostYes, that would be the last stage when petrol would no longer reach the combustion chamber. But till then the bike should stutter, right? Or will it behave according to engine revs?
I have personally experienced the water in petrol issue, but that was a carb-ed bike.. engine revvs wont matter.. it is a fuel supply issue & engine would react every moment the water present intervenes with the fuel supply.. I remember i had to open the carb at the middle of nowhere & had to clean it
long back though..

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
We will Talk about ZMR /ZMA and Fuel Injection....Water in petrol behavior depends on the quantum of adulteration....water being heavy will settle at the bottom of float bowl, and for small acceleration the Idle jet which is higher in height will be sipping good Petrol,.....and if you try to accelerate ,thereby introducing petrol through main jet, the water will add to the idle jet feed and make the engine hesitate, and loose power.....In Fi the mix will come under pressure due to fuel pump and get injected as spray into the chamber....so at reduced level of water it will actually aid in combustion, but once larger quantity starts coming in, the calorific value goes down, and the Spark plug will get short to ground due to water wetness....Practically what I had seen is hesitation and jerk in carburetor, and lack of accelerater pedal response in Car Fi...and if the Pedal is pressed hard the engine will switch off....This had been my experience...I have no Fi TWO wheeler to give specific input.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostSir, let us for a moment consider that its a ZMA we're talking about. Would like to hear and learn from other members.
For cleaning out carb float bowl, you can unscrew the bleed screw at bottom and bleed the Petrol in the float bowl.Originally posted by Bibhudatta View PostI had just edited my post guessing this question..

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Calculation.. 16kmph every 1000 rpm in 5th gear..Originally posted by Raja Saiyan View Postwat would b the speed of bike at 2.2 to 2.5 in 5th gear?
My bike is still unregistered am driving around with a disabled speedometer
Which means 16*2.2 = 35.2 or 16*2.5 =40
That will strain your bike engine.. shifting at 3000rpm + will do..

Its been 4 days that my bike is with the mech. That injector joint is no where available. They say it'll take 15 days to arrive on booking. Feeling damn depressed
Rreneav bro- is that part in stock near your place? And how many days may it take to arrive?

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR PSD
We dont have much tire options for 18" alloy wheels.. psd is the best option.. else the stock.. other than this we dont have much tubeless options. I am currently running on michelin sira street on front and back.. front tires are pretty good.. but the rear tirea are slippery on wet conditions..Originally posted by Varun Padala View PostHi;I am proud owner of Karizma ZMR 11500 done almost 1 year.
