Dada, I can't say if acceleration has "actually" improved or not. It does feel so, but it maybe psychological as well (due to the sound). But low end torque has improved as suggested by psr sir. It can be attributed to better breathing.

No worries mate. Karizma R or ZMR both are Honda's design and engineering result and now since Honda has part away from Hero they had to take away the logos as well. Otherwise the machine is still the same. GO for it.

The Zen MPFi Filter needs to be mounted on to the stock Air filter frame, after removing the old filter element...so I need an old air filter unit and ofcourse the Zen filter...It will take a day to do the mod properly.....

Moreover doesn't it have any negative effect to the bike by removing the part? May be I am wrong as I m ignorant of such things.. But I would like to know how many have done this and is till using it? I would like have a detail feedback from the senior members like PSR, etc...
Good Question..if you look inside the snorkel, the inside of the rubber form is divided into two parts, and both ends are bent in opposite directions....the small end from mounting goes inside the air box, and the long part sticks into the protected area under the seat....This snorkel prevents easy entry of rodents into the air box....in the air filter element also there is a wire mesh to prevent rodent infiltration, and it is just behind the paper element inside....so this snorkel reduces air velocity into the airbox due to the bend and the partition inside the snorkel....for normal acceleration, it will not make much difference....
Originally the idea of removing the snorkel was to increase the inlet breather sound to mimic K&N without the problems associated with it...but it seems to have helped in better breathing ....need to be explored , and no conclusion except the increased breather sound can be confirmed now....2 ZMRs in Chennai are running with snorkel removed ..so far owners like the sound and have confirmed better low end response.....

And most importantly, I guess my bike won't pass PUC check.
Your air filter is now easy access for rodents, though they can not get beyond the filter due to the metal screen behind the filter element....Your bike will easily pass PUC check since your engine breaths more air and CO level will be less

I would assume that the increased air breathing sound gives a feeling of going quick.....but with increased air intake in Fi possibility of better acceleration is possible since the ECU will compensate

Mod done.. time required is less than what it takes to prepare maggie to be honest, yeah i too loved the sound.. its kinda a free flowing sound & starts coming out at mid revvs.. just took a very very small ride, so cant confirm on acceleration impact now.. but yeah the sound made me feel as if bike is happy & is enjoying some freedom.. would post my experience when i ride it to ofc tomorrow..

btw, you are saved coz am liking it !! he he.. Thanks PSR Ji too !

I had hit upon the idea of snorkel removal, after I experimented with my Lancer air filter inlet....in Lancer there is an elaborate shaped hard plastic inlet tubing with a large resonator in the inlet in to the airbox....when I removed the in-between plumbing ,I really loved the air breathing sound, whenever I accelerated...after some time(7days) got bored, and reconnected everything because of fear of rodent attack...In the Lancer airbox there is no protection for rodent infiltration, except the labyrinthine inlet bends and routing, and so did not want to take the risk.....
Glad it helped a few ZMR owners...

@ Reneav if you want the ZEN filter mod, bring an old ZMA/ZMR air filter with you and give it to me..in a day I can fix the Zen MPFi air filter and give it back to you...
here is a picture of it....
