  • Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR

Posting after a long time ...

Was doing the round of dealers for ZMR white colour .. And i found none available here in delhi.

The sales person are pathetic ... "Most of them".

Most of them can't assure when the white colour ZMR will be available ... even when i was ready to pay to all money in advance "in cash".

Got really fed up all these ...

Hero moto corp lost a loyal customer ...

Going to book a Royal Enfield Classic 500 desert storm today... as they have assured me i will get the bike in 20 to 30 days max. if i pay in cash.

thought to share this all with you guys because i am also a fan of ZMR much like u all.

Hero ruined ma dream of owning "ZMR".

Congrats for getting laid! Err, Leh'd.

So, you're the 2nd ZMRian on XBHP to have ridden in Leh. And BTW, 110 mm PSD does NOT require any chain guard cutting/touching/removing.

                    Congrats mate

Well, to fit the 110 section, you don't have to remove the chain cover. however for the 120 section you will need to remove it.. better to source the 110 section as you will lose quite amount in performance..

cons? well.. there isn't any if you are going to take good care of the chains lubricating them on time and on correct intervals.. the chain shouldn't go dry else it will screw the sprockets and the chain..

                    PS. Waiting for your pics

Congrates on the trip!!! and regarding the PSD, it changed to it last month and dimension is 110/90-18 and its a direct fit. Great tyre and great expirence all together.. But I have seen fellow members asking to get the tyre aligned but I had a servicing after fitting the new rubber but they told on alignment is required jut that 110 / 120 is harder to get out of the groove of the rear tyre.. Have to tilt the bike more and all that..

I had a suspension issue, not shock absorbers mind it.. Got it fixed in lead shop for 400/- though I didn't feel anything at that point of time, not do I now.. Can any one I mean the senior person explaing how is this issue is caused and exactly it is?? The service guy told that its due to low air pressure and heavy weight or double load... Please throw some light....

                      Feedback awaited...

:-) thank you matey......Yes about performance....yes id loose on a little performance in speed till i reach 30-40kmph as id be making a wider contact...but later it should not be issue as the drag speed of the tyre is good...!! And yeah even with cover on i used to grease the chain in a months interval....and my bikes running good since the past 32000kms so no issues about keeping it well serviced:-)...:-) It had its first fall after 3 years....tht too on my Leh ride....not a fall actually....just a tilt...and i could not get it back upright....so i carefully left it on the ground....got down and picked it up with a frens help..(Fully loaded)..:-)

I guess there is something inside the rectangle swing arm.. The whole set was unmounted and was taken to LATHE shop (sorry for the mistake)... The vibrating a bit and the rear wheel was moving a bit sideways in stand still position in main stand... I didn't go to the lathe shop so don't know exactly what they rectified...

But I was told there is a rod that joins the rectangle swing arm set from front end, that got wend and was corrected in lathe shop. That is what I know... Hence asked for more clarification from fellow members, if they have faced the same issue.. The cause of the issue is in my previous post....

                          Waiting for feedback..

OKay then according to what you say...i feel your talking about the Chain setting rod......The only way the rod can get bend is if the previous alignment of both the bolts(Both side chain setting bolts) are not matched....then in that case the tyre is surely to move crooked.....and if you must have hit a pothole ...the rod slowly must have bent....!!! But it has nothing to do with suspension...because at the lower suspension connection point the pressure would always be equal when depressed....but after that when the pressure is transferred to the tyres and the swing arm....the chain setting rod must have taken the toll and got bent...!!!

But I was told there is a rod that joins the rectangle swing arm set from front end, that got wend and was corrected in lathe shop. That is what I know... Hence asked for more clarification from fellow members, if they have faced the same issue.. The cause of the issue is in my previous post....

I have the same problem but mine was a manufacturing defect. What the mech said was that the swing arms are attached to the front body right below the place where the engine is mounted by means of a small rod. This rod is misaligned right from the start and to rectify it, he has to take it to a lathe shop. Else by minor adjustments like hammering, it can be rectified to a certain extent but not fully.

Just look a few pages back bro. I've posted a pic on main stand. See if youe issue is similar. In my case, the wheel is a bit towards the left.

Completed 800 kms on my ZMR, but the knocking (piston slapping to be precise) is still there and happens even in the 2nd gear. First, I suspected ignition timing to be advanced, but that struck it off the list because if that was the case then the knocking would happen in all the gears. Second, I thought may be I am not adhering to the RPM when shifting gears, but then that isn't the case either.

The knocking happens only after the engine runs for a few kilometres and thereafter. Took it to the ASC only to find they are a total mess of an ASS. Now, the only thing remains to be tested is 10W40 JASO MA 2 grade engine oil.

Here's why I won't put Rimula R3X or R4: These are engine oils for diesel engine which are compression-fired and what we have is a petrol engine which is spark-fired. The nature of the oils are different because of the constituents. Might give you a good feel for a few thousand kilometres after which the damage will be visible (audible as well). The other thing is that you can play around the temperature, that is 10W30, the 30 can go up to 40 but the 10 has to remain 10 or less. For example, 5W30, 5W40,10W40, but NOT 15W30 or 15W40 or 20W40. Yeah, it seems tricky like rocket science but that's how it works.

I do hope things get better with the oil change for my ZMR, else am done for!! ASCs are of no help....come an EBR-tech-based bike, these guys will be like holy asses in meditation!!
