I hope so....we don't know what are the changes....Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostIt will be as reliable as the stock vehicle, right? since the parts will be of good quality..
Many possibilities, and it is the configuration which matters...ie., larger Carb Venturi with proper flow, larger Valves, more Valves, High lift,or longer duration Cams, changed in let and exhaust manifold size, and Valve timings, Higher Compression Ratio,...these are some of the possibilitiesOriginally posted by veryhiphop View PostWant to know for knowledge purpose....which parts are responsible to produce the bhp of a bike engine...When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

You ideally need 1.1L, but 1L works as well.Originally posted by neeraj.juneja View PostPlease help me regarding engine oil change. I want to go for synthetic oil this time as I am unsatisfied with stock engine oil since the beginning.
Mineral oils - Gulf Pride 20w40 (gasoline based), Shell Rimula R3x/R4 15w40(Diesel based)
Semi synthetic - Shell Advance AX7 10w40 (gasoline based)
Fully Synthetic - Mobil1 10w40 (gasoline based)Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
If there is any link that could diffrentiate between these and their performance selectively for my zmr, then that would be helpful. Thanks.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostYou ideally need 1.1L, but 1L works as well.

How do you think of this oil :Motul 7100 10W40(around 850) vs Motul Gold 4t 10W40 (arnd 350)
I dont know but heard Motul oil suits zmr, tell you opinion. See, Price is not an issue.
Veedol Swift? Any improvement in performance or other, as compared to when you used other oil?
So, I would be buying 2 cans or 1 can of 1l?Last edited by neeraj.juneja; 10-17-2013, 04:12 PM.

Refer to the above link for all the info you need about engine oils. Though its not brand specific it shall help you in making a wiser decision.
Do not discount its merits because its more car oriented

That was really useful. Thanks a lot.
But here it mentions that Fully Synthetics are not compatible with Mineral Oil. So , presently I am on stock( i think SVC uses mineral oil) , that'd make the combination incompatible, isnt it?
I think For winters Synthetic might suit my needs. I hope it would satisfy me better than (HH-H=Hero) mineral oil. :-p
Have zeroed in on Motul 300V 4T Factory Line 10W40 and Mobil1 10W40(as suggested above) = both synthetic.
Now the question arises is which one to choose now?

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I also wanted to add that , there are two varieties of Mobil1 4T oil 10W40 available in market. They are saying that one is for R15(~350) and other costing around ~900. Is there any difference?Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostYou ideally need 1.1L, but 1L works as well.

IIRC correctly yamaha svc guys use10w50 and semi-synthetic for the R15Originally posted by neeraj.juneja View PostI also wanted to add that , there are two varieties of Mobil1 4T oil 10W40 available in market. AFAIK it's bad to only mix non mineral derivative FS oil with Mineral oil. psr sir can throw better light on this matter.
A suggestion from me: before switching over to full synthetic why don't you try using a better mineral oil. Unless you plan to go touring for long time/distance where it shall be difficult to carry additional oil, mineral oil does a great job too.
Agreed the change interval is more frequent but with FS is it worth the extra premium for your regular use, where good mineral oils are available at half the price if not lower. I used to use mobil1, was great but again I used to change it every 3.5k kms, max pushed it to 4k kms once. Mainly liked it as I didn't have to worry about carrying extra oil while touring.
Now I use rimula r4 and I am equally satisfied, I haven't noticed any difference in my ride quality or engine performance. I drain at an interval of 1500-1650 and it's still cheaper than my previous oil while being equally good.
Just my opinion

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Just wondering if anyone has solution to this. Let me start from beginning. I switched off the ignition at pollution checking shop. Had a little chay with the guy there. Then he inserted a rod into the silencer and asked me to start the bike. I put the key in and pressed the starter switch but all i got was a brrrr...sound from starter relay and meter was blinking. I replaced the relay as told by svc guy but today i faced the same issue again and this time clock got reset too. But after 3-4 times of brrr...and resetting of clock it got started. But i didnt used the bike afterwards as i doubt about its reliability now until this issue is resolved. What to do now?
Zmr is 1.5yrs old with 13600km on odo.
I hope someone can be of some help to me here.
