Checked the battery terminals. No corrosion. Its as good as new. Shall get the battery recharged and see if that works.

See I was right! I remember getting the relay for 240 rupees, battery is 1400 or so. Hence, under 1700.

Update Guys.. The battery was completely dead exactly like what [MENTION=14688]veryhiphop[/MENTION] had said.. now.. the problem was with the Starter Relay.. The one that was fitted on my bike was a f**King Local relay.. does Hero Honda provide us with local starter relays? due to the heavy rain yesterday, the water had shorted the starter relay draining the battery completely..

Now I purchased a Minda Starter Relay for 330/- and fitted on the bike.. had to push start the bike and boom, the bike started.. the mechanic rode the bike for some distance to charge the battery and viola.. it was fine.. after all these days... the issue i had with the battery was the F**King local Relay..

Screw you Hero Honda..

I am gonna get a new battery soon as it is not available in Ghaziabad..

The mechanic claims that a new battery from Exide will cost me only 1250/- is this correct?? because when I wanted to buy it 1 year back.. they said it will cost me 1500/-

Congrats. No, my bike has Minda relays courtesy the SVC. You were goofed up last time (if you changed the relay in between or maybe someone @SVC swapped yours with the local one).
If you're not sure with the 1250/- price, then I'd suggest you buy one yourself at an Exide dealer and get it fit @ the mech.

I have been facing the battery issue right from the beginning and now I assume it was all because of the Starter Relay.. lets see how it goes..

this could be a reason; otherwise the stock products in the ZMR are of very fine quality....

I buy @1600 in Nov 2011.... and get some exchange amount too for older battery....check at exide dealer...also, check if 8 amp battery VRLA available as it is coming with P200 NS...

Since; you are in Noida then check at Bajaj ProBiking Service center (i guess in Sec 2)...for P200 NS battery..if dimensions are same then you have an option to go for 8 amp battery...

Press and hold the self start and don't let go of it.. it will attempt to start the bike.. Don't give acceleration as well.. the bike will eventually start.. try and hold the self button till the bike starts.. we usually leave the self button after seeing the display going off.. Give it a shot.. nothing to lose here..

Had my battery changed yesterday and it costed me 1580. Mrp was 1860rs. Guess I paid more but I don care. My trip plan got cancelled and am feeling sooooo down

I checked for the P200NS battery.. I went to the KTM/Bajaj pro biking service center in Vaishali yesterday evening.. when I asked about the availability.. they said it is not available.. so i asked them the dimensions.. for which they asked the reason.. told them I wanted to fit it in my ZMR as it comes with a 6AH battery.. they wanted to see it.. i had the other battery with me in my bag.. so took it out and showed it to them.. they said it won't fit as the P200NS battery is long and short.. more like that ones that come in UPS.. thats what they told me..

now I am in need of a battery as i don't want my bike to strangle in between..

so I have decided to hunt for battery this weekend in Delhi.. probably the 7AH battery which one of the xbhpian ZMR owner had fitted.. i forgot who.. i think it was [MENTION=14688]veryhiphop[/MENTION] .. I need the address

so that I can go get it

I get the Exide XPACK VRLA Model No: XPTZ7....its come with 18 months warranty; 24 for pro-month and its not 7 amp..its 6amp....

from Exide no other battery in this category after 6 amp....
