Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Even I tried this on my p220 infact had even removed the filter sensor which created even bigger hole and used to love the roar and was feeling a kick in acceleration, after few months replaced the snorkel and sensor to stock and then my bike turned into dukeOriginally posted by Bibhudatta View PostMod done.. time required is less than what it takes to prepare maggie
to be honest, yeah i too loved the sound.. its kinda a free flowing sound & starts coming out at mid revvs.. just took a very very small ride, so cant confirm on acceleration impact now.. but yeah the sound made me feel as if bike is happy & is enjoying some freedom..
would post my experience when i ride it to ofc tomorrow..
btw, you are saved coz am liking it !! he he..
Thanks PSR Ji too !
and smoothness similar to Honda
territory from then on never even thought of FFFilter

Glad it helped a few ZMR owners...
@ Reneav if you want the ZEN filter mod, bring an old ZMA/ZMR air filter with you and give it to me..in a day I can fix the Zen MPFi air filter and give it back to you...
here is a picture of it....
By removing Snorkel we get great sound and acceleration but what happens to the mileage?
and when the engine breaths very free and roars a lot.. won't it reduce the engines life expectancy?sigpic

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Would like to upgrade from 15.2 bhp to 17.6, however holding my horses (since last 1 year) I've been following this thread since long and today just saw this news regarding upcoming 250, hence jumped into topic wondering if i can get any details...
Anyone knows tentative dates of Hero's upcoming upgraded launch? worth to wait for upcoming (I can wait 2 months as) or just go for ZMR, I am planning to book ZMR within 2 months of time..."Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees you'll ride alone."

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
bro, i took one video after the mod yesterday night itself.. but unfortunately it does not make the expected sound when standing still; may be it does not get ample air while standing.. thats why i did not upload the video..Originally posted by antan_shank View PostPlease one video for me to feel the sound!!! I am waiting...
ok, i though know the trick.. tonight i would remove the seat & would then take another video.. am sure that way it would get the amount of air it needs to produce the sound..

Yes to both the points, but the bigger YES to the Mads point..Originally posted by psr View Post
Then you should definitely try the Zen MPFi air filter mod.....you can have the snorkel with muted sound, and good acceleration.....
Who can forget Mad Dix ? Such a pleasing face and smile, even to-day....she is like the lady on the Greecian Urn by Shelley.for ever young and charming
you did put it very well about her charm..
Will then surely try with the Zen MPFi once.. but would try n do that with an old filter box, so that i can get back to the stock one if i mess up...
My Bikes:
Yamaha RD (The one which taught me what riding is; Can never forget this one)
Bajaj Caliber (The one closest to my heart; I still have it after 15 yrs !)
Yamaha R15 V2.0 (The best I had; Ah it let me become the college hunk I once used to be :) )
Hero Honda Karizma ZMR (The bike for the family man in me; The practical one; The current one)

Still no announcement .. But, one thing is for sure If they announce it would most probably be mid 2014 and everyone knows that there will always be a delay in launch example : if they say first quarter the bike will be launched only on the second quarter and you are talking about waiting 2 months alone..Originally posted by AmoghDox View PostWould like to upgrade from 15.2 bhp to 17.6, however holding my horses (since last 1 year) I've been following this thread since long and today just saw this news regarding upcoming 250, hence jumped into topic wondering if i can get any details...

that 15.2bhp to 17.6bhp will show you the power of two and a half horses with the ZMR for sureOriginally posted by AmoghDox View PostWould like to upgrade from 15.2 bhp to 17.6, however holding my horses (since last 1 year) I've been following this thread since long and today just saw this news regarding upcoming 250, hence jumped into topic wondering if i can get any details...

I would suggest you to wait for the bike if you are willing to wait for another 6 months.. and the bike is gonna be more powerful than the ZMR.. they are gonna launch it during the diwali festive season... this was the same time 4 years back when the ZMR was caught testing on road... and in september, ZMR was launched.. so my mind says we will see the bike in flesh in showrooms by October..
but waiting means you will have to wait forever as they will keep launching new bikes
choice is your mate..
==
I have some good hopes for the bike.. hope they don't disappoint me like how they did with the specs of ZMR..
I am assuming the bike is gonna have dual headlamps.. just like the EBR's bike.. just a pure guess

I am sure you guys would help me out if I was in the same situation..
its the way they are sitting... but the handle bar is shorter than the ZMRs
looks like it will be a little bit sportier.. more like the CBR
By the way.. is it only to my eyes or in the below pic, the bike coming behind looks a bit different... in the sense, the fairing looks less wider than the bike in front.. maybe the angle of the video is like that.. but I kinda have a feeling they are gonna bring in 2 different bikes

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
With better Air inlet FE will increase.....If we use K&N ,which allows more dust to go in, then life expectancy of engine will reduce...Removing snorkel only changes the inlet sound...the stock Paper filter remains in place and does a good job of filtering dust...Originally posted by Raja Saiyan View PostBy removing Snorkel we get great sound and acceleration but what happens to the mileage?

At the moment i am using RE Thunderbird, no offence meant but i don't like it (too much costly affair in terms of maintenance, lot of reliability issue) as far as my RTR concern it is superb machine and fun to ride, but nowdays it is taking a toll of my back, even though i commute for 20 Kms a day, hence decided for ZMR however heard a lot about upcoming 250 cc which made me lot of confusion, i am looking for the the reliability and comfort ride... ZMR fits all in my requirement... let see how upcoming will turn up like, keeping the fingers crossed Hero will rovide same chassis, riding comfort, reliablity, sports tourer like ZMR."Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees you'll ride alone."
