Reneav- no bro, neither I oiled any parts after washing and nor have I replaced anything recently.

Worrisomebear- nope. There was no fall or impact of any kind.

Raja- Your point taken. But which part must be oiled? I mean I did not understand the 'bearings' stuff. Where exactly??

And my bike is about 2.5 yrs old. 29930 kms done.

Also since the cone set needs replacement, the bike has fallen and we dont know the gravity of impact to ground... if major accoident or minor... in either case without replacing the cone set and checking forks alloy wheels one can never return back to same original handling

Well.. the cone set would need replacement here...
@ abhi.. do you find the brakes effective?? in the sense.. do you find as if something is blocking the suspension from going further and hear a tup sound when you apply front brake??

when he says bearing.. it is the cone set.. you will find it under the handle bar.. if you remove the handle bar.. the part of the chassis has a bearing set which helps in free movement of the handlebar.. I have a doubt that it could be rusted as you said you never replaced it..

I got the cone set replaced at 24000 kms.. it was all rusted and after replacing.. the smoothness in braking and suspension was superb.. and the handle bar was like a power steering

No bro the suspension is utra-smooth. I just tried it now. As good as new. Works brilliantly. And no issues with breaking too!

even I thought the same before changing the cone set when i say the sound and block of suspension.. i mean its very minute.. no where near noticeable.. but once you change the cone set.. you will feel the difference.. or rather.. try and getting it greased again..

Its going to cost you 350 + 100 fixing charge...

before doing this.. try to get the bearings greased.. that could fix the issue... take it to a local mechanic.. they will do their best to grease it.. if you take it to SVC, they will try to replace it in first go without making any attempt to grease it

                    @Divya Sharan.. awaiting your response..
Well, it depends on your style of riding. A quick throttle (good quality one) will send you WOT with barely 25% pull of the pulley, hence overtaking in city would be fun, but it will bring down the mileage because you'd be practically doing a WOT all the time.

Moreover, our bikes hit the red line at a measly 8.2k RPM, that's where other bikes generate max power. In other words, we stay in the max power/torque range pretty easily without the quick throttle anyways, hence I feel you can drop the plan.

Along with the cone set, get both axle bearings lubed as well.

Regarding the quick throttle.. Our bikes have 2 cables.. A & B... but the quick throttle comes only with one cable thats where my confusion stands..

I am not gonna use a quick throttle as i will definitely go mad and out of control racing

Let abhi know where the axle bearings are in case he doesn't know

You can very well ride with just the A cable. I did ride for approx 2200 kms in Chennai with a broken B cable (spares issue).

This was 2 years back, in the initial ownership days. Such spares are readily available now, at least in BLR.

This was 2 years back, in the initial ownership days. Such spares are readily available now, at least in BLR.
