@psr sir.. I will be leaving my bike at ASC probably today or tomorrow for the eating up of oil issue (most probably oil rings) what would be the estimation I will be looking at if I need to replace the cylinder kit..
The last time I inquired the std., bore was 3,500/- and piston with ring set etc., (complete) was 760/- approx. I don't know what is the present pricing. Labour will be expensive since engine had to be dismounted . Gasket kit will be 350/- if only head gaskets are changed.Of course consumables will be equally high with HH ASC.

Hello brothers......Yet again I am back after a long time. Yes as always with a selfish reason:-P...Just kidding.....!
Need assistance on a few aspects.... i'd be reaching the 50000 kms mark soon...and need to know what all I need to pay attention on when it comes to maintenance. Presently I have my timing chain tensioner rattling like crazy.
Have been servicing my bike regularly so no issue apart from the chain tensioner thing. Also I have this unusual problem, my battery drains very quickly if I keep my indicators on for even 3-4 minutes when my bike is not started and later it refuses to start and the usual kirrrrr.rrrrrr thing happens and the only option I see to push start it. Whereas even if I park my bike for 3-4 days in my parking and press the starter it starts immediately. Is the battery at fault?
              Regards-

Guys need inputs! Following are the indications which i have observed :-

1: In any gear, while decelerating, typically at speeds ranging from 30-60kmph, and RPMs lower than 5k, i hear a strange tappet like sound from the engine. The sound is loud and clear and sometimes exceeds the sound of the engine itself. Its not tappet noise, cause that comes too along with this loud sound!
2: Does not occur in first few kms of starting. Happens when engine heats up a little.
3: Once the sound starts, i ride continously without stopping for 2-3kms. Sound doesn't decrease. Upon stopping, when i remove the helmet to listen, i hear this noice which is way louder than the engine's as mentioned(when idling). During that period, i observed that the sound decreases as and how the RPMs increase.
4: Burning smell. Clutch plates are not the cause as they were replaced recently, and the same was confirmed by the mechanic when i insisted him on riding the bike again today.
5: Sound had vanished when oil was changed on the next day of it's occurrence, about three months back.
I experienced the sound again about 3 days back anz changed the oil today. The sound seems to have slightly decreased but not fully

My suspicion lies upon nothing as i have no idea regarding the subject!
                Need your opinions!

Sounds more like timings chain to me

Burning smell could be because of some oil leakage. Can you check for oil leakage? under belly maybe or from the tappet windows.. Also, open the Air Filter box and see if you find any oil leak there..
5: Sound had vanished when oil was changed on the next day of it's occurrence, about three months back.

                      My superman sprockets will last!
Cleaned the sprockets and adjusted the slack. It was rattling like crazy in rains and had become loose.

But the rear pads may wear off completely in 5-6k kms.

I hope you don't apply grease or something on rear disc to avoid replacement. I am running on 3rd set of rear disc pad, odo stands at 40k only .

Chain sprockets, ok I can understand but disc pads
