To start with i have today booked a black zmr for myself in delhi
    hello there,
I am planning to buy ZMR now. I have gone through all the specifications of ZMR. The bike is very good in that and even looks are good enough. But please guide me with one issue. ZMR doesn't have kick start option. For this reason many mechanics are telling me to go for Karizma R. I want to ask you that can we totally rely on self start? Doesn't it cause problems afterwords? What kind of specific maintainance does it require?

Coming staright to the point.. there are a few starter issues that I have faced and I am still facing.. I wish ZMR had kick start
Even today morning 7.30 am when i tried to start my bike it did not start damn.. that too in front of friend who owns P220 who just kept laughing.. He then gave DHAKKA and I managed to start the bike.

Cant believe this is happening even just after my bike has come from servicing. Its not got anything to do with battery I think as I had highlighted the problem in servicing and charged my battery full ..This has to be something else. but once it starts after that the starter works fine. Starter issue are random they happen rarely

did u read manual? it has methods to start the bike incase it is not starting in one go.basically give full accelerator and self it couple of time

ALso i guess it rained yesterday at mumbai, bike would be lying in rains,so moisture accumulates on a part below the fariing. i was told to just remove it and put back and it will start

I rode the bike yesterday 50 kms and parked it in evening around 6:30pm... when i try and start in 13 hrs later it will not start..It was rainning entire monsoon that time i did not have this problem.. Y suddenly from the past one month.. you mean if it does not start we have to remove the fairing and put it back

Is there any other reason why the bike does not start sometimes using starter..

I think you are having a problem with the starter...check it with another SVC

yes..rain n cold environment makes engine temperature below normal. I think parking bike under roof and/or covering the bike will solve the morning starting problems. Isn't it?

True, i always covered by bike, so in rain if it is covered it has nt given me any prblm till date.
Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

Though I'm a 2T fan. I would like to upgrade my other bike Honda Unicorn (2005) to a better for touring purpose. I did go through pages randomly for couple of days. However, need some better opinion on buying Karizma. I've not personally driven on ZMR, however, had experienced ZMA-R (old). I like the riding position and as well as the comfort.

Going through this thread found there are opinions that there isn't much difference on ZMR when compared with the earlier ZMA. The point of difference comes with FI, style and rear disc brakes.

However, my major worry is all about the after sales support - SPARES!

I had gone through the pains of procuring RX parts for my bike this year, trust me, would never recommend anyone to take up restoration as you will need to go places to get them. Phew! had enough.

I'm reading HH Karizma parts are being tough to get across the company showrooms which is a concern to me, even though the are still being in production.

What made me to post on ZMR thread? I wanted a cruise bike for long rides. Why not pulsars? Not that they are inferior, but they are not in my top list.

                              Need to know opinion on:
                              Long rides (800kms+)
                              Cruising ability (90kmph+)
                              Engine smoothness
                              Reliability (on long rides)
If you were to buy another one would that be ZMA-R/ZMR?

So I would appreciate if you can spare few minutes to write a line that would help me to to decide.
karizma is very good bike, a kick is not possible in a fully faired bike i.e why there is no kick[OT- FAZER AND FZ ARE COMING WITH KICKS NOW]

if you have 1 lac then go for zmr else zma-r has all capabilities of zmr minus the fi and rear disc[major points].

specifically there is no user serviceable thing in both the starter and battery as it is sealed one.

make sure you dont crank for too long say 7-10 seconds.......

since bike is in warranty get your starter checked and make sure while you start your bike dont open throttle fully as it will cut the fuel supply.
