I guess last time it was on Hyderabad NH. Be safe. Get some pooja done
1st - braked and tried to swerve, still hit the dog; me bed ridden for few months, dog dead.
2nd - ran over but no incidents, dog was already dead from an earlier accident.
3rd - braked hard but the wheel locked on gravel, left brakes - straightened up the bike, the dammed dog stood there and got hit. Both of us limped away.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hi Divya,
Wishing you get well soon. In India, the roads are like a "for-granted' type. We, as a biker are very much vulnerable for road conditions, pedestrians, dogs, bicycles, two, three, four, six, eight, ten and so on wheelers, loose gravel, stones, water, oil, etc., Phew!!!
And to be safe, we should be cautious when see anything on road moves and anticipate them and do the needdful. Happy Biking...

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Guys,
Do the pilot lamps play any role in lighting up the road ? The stock ones surely don't, but if pilot lamps are meant for providing some light then which ones should I get, as I could really use an extra pair of LEDs as my current headlight doesn't cover the full road...
I read that SMD Leds are best but which ones ? Can you guys recommend one from either Amazon or Flipkart
Thanks
PS I had created a new thread about this but I'm sure that it'll get merged here as I own a karizma zmr and I had no patience xD
Sorry :PLast edited by Harry99; 12-09-2015, 03:12 AM.

Pilot lamps, also called as parking lamps are very useful in cars. Perhaps a similar role in motorcycles too! However, I use themOriginally posted by Harry99 View PostDo the pilot lamps play any role in lighting up the road ? 1. during early morning and late evening when using main headlight doesn't make sense but a dimmer light helps pointing you out to other riders on the road
2. if at all one's main headlight fails, pilot lamps may be useful at slow speeds on pitch dark roads.
Do not go for LEDs, they're often of 6000K temp colour, bluish tint which annoy people like me on roads. I may even switch on high-beam and come straight at you!
Find halogen w5(mostly) Pilots from Philips/Osram if you can; I'm not sure about Karizma's make-model.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Pilot lamps are primarily meant for parking your vehicle. ZMR uses T10 type bulbs.Originally posted by Harry99 View PostGuys,

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Pilot lamps are strictly for aesthetic value only , dont expect any benefits from it . You should focus more on headlight rather than pilots . there is a dedicated tread for lighting where you will get more info on what to put for better light. For starters you can use osram silverstar . i am unaware what wattage bulb zmr uses , but silverstar is 35W for sure.Originally posted by Harry99 View PostGuys,

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
True. ZMR comes fit with 35w candle lights. One can use up to 55w candles directly.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostPilot lamps are strictly for aesthetic value only , dont expect any benefits from it . Wish all manufacturers stuck to round reflector assy rather than cuts and creases.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I pulled the pilot lights out and it stated 12V 3W but surprisingly both lights gave different light. One gave a yellowish dimlight the other one was more brighter and the lights was lime yellow typeish..Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostTrue. ZMR comes fit with 35w candle lights. The yellow one seemed old as the text on it was faded.
So I shouldn't change them ?
Thanks
