Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Guys does anyone else find it hard to put the bike in neutral when it's on... ?
I can easily put the bike in neutral if its off but when its on, no matter how hard I try, 1st gear will jump right into 2nd, and 2nd will jump into 1.
Thanks

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Get the clutch cable tightened. A play in clutch means you put extra effort to shift gears and this makes it hard to neutral.Originally posted by Harry99 View PostGuys does anyone else find it hard to put the bike in neutral when it's on... ?

What engine oil do you use btw? From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I am facing the same issue. Guess its a prevailing issue with most of the ZMR / ZMA as i could find lot of dicussions in XBHP pertaining to First-> Neutral hard gear shifting.Originally posted by Harry99 View PostGuys does anyone else find it hard to put the bike in neutral when it's on... ?

In between, i brought a second hand ZMR couple of weeks ago. Though it had completed meager 10K at the time of my possession, one of the cause of hard shifting i suspect may be due abuse by its first owner.
Points to Note:
I just replaced the clutch cable two days back and i could feel the gear shifting effort has become notch easier.
Also, AX7 engine oil change is still pending as none of the Shell fuel station guys here are ready to change the oil when it comes to ZMR (its fairing makes them feel uncomfortable to unscrew the drain plug
) Need to find a road side mechanic today / DIY if time permits.
Experts may be able to pour more insights, their experiences and possible solutions to fix hard shift issue.
@Divya Sharan: In continuation with your suggestion, i have brought IFTEX system G and added 15ml straight away as my tank's fuel level was already near brim (though i shook the bike as much as possible to get it mixed with petrol). Post which, i have clocked around 250 Kms. Still, i don't feel any reduction in vibration levels. What is the lead time usually takes to observe the change? Also, i am thinking of checking the spark plug whether it actually went bad. But, removing the complete fairing for checking the plug alone is a herculean task. Do we have any easy access for spark Plug removal & installation in ZMR like through the gap below headlight / the gap above clutch spring in engine side?Last edited by monisab2003; 12-16-2015, 05:48 PM.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Pour System G first and then petrol, not the other way round. You would see the difference in 500 km.Originally posted by monisab2003 View Post@Divya Sharan: In continuation with your suggestion, i have brought IFTEX system G and added 15ml straight away as my tank's fuel level was already near brim (though i shook the bike as much as possible to get it mixed with petrol). Spark plug can be accessed only by opening the lower fairing unless you have child like hands in which case, you can twist and turn the plug in the available gap from the front mudguard side.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Well, now after bike is dry bike is running fine but started get a weird knocking on early morning start. All after pressure wash or just co-incidenceOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostBang on! Inspect the area around the plug and wipe the water carefully. If needed, open the plug and dry it off.
Avoid pressure washing the tank lid, oil cooler and spark plug side of the engine for the same reason.
Will get the oil and spark plug replaced this weekend and see how it goes. Hope nothing major.
Starter was running perfect and engine would start in idle. So I can safely rule out starter relay issue.Originally posted by monisab2003 View PostI suspect the issue to be due to water logged starter relay.
In 25mins probably water driedOriginally posted by Harry99 View PostBuddy same thing happened to me when I got it washed from a local guy, but after around 20-25 minutes of continuous trying to start the bike, I succeeded...

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Thanks Ji. Let me follow that next time when i fill the fuel. I have replaced the oil to AX7 on yesterday night at a Neighborhood mechanic shop. The vibration level seems to have come down a little. Hope i am on right track in bringing down the NVH levels. Next target is to clean the chain with Diesel and lube with SAE 90. Lets see how does my bike fair then.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostPour System G first and then petrol, not the other way round. You would see the difference in 500 km.

Can any one suggest me a good mechanic / fellow XBHPians from Chennai who can validate my bike's engine health. I am not convinced with the service centers at all and this being a FI bike, i am unable to take it any local service centers who still looks the bike like an alien breed.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Weird knocking sounds? Does it vanish after the bike has run 2-3kms? And do observe if you get that sound while decelerating... and updateOriginally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostWell, now after bike is dry bike is running fine but started get a weird knocking on early morning start. P220 gear fork, 2nd and 3rd gears broken completely due to clutch less shifting.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Yup !! Exactly same. Knocks when decelerating and vanishes once engine heats up. Knocking sound resembles air leak from air intake hose.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostWeird knocking sounds?
