I know there are many posts on bike mobile chargers, still I wanted to confirm installation procedure.
I just bought accucharger brand charger online, it had decent reviews.
It doesn't have any switch. On their product page, they have instructed to connect the +ve and -ve wires to the headlight connectors.
I wish to simply connect it to the battery, with a switch and 10 amps fuse in the positive wire. Will it work without any safety issues?
If not then what's the safest procedure?

Its fine the way you want, but a cellphone works with up to 2.4 A at max. Get a smaller fuse.Originally posted by arya809 View PostI wish to simply connect it to the battery, with a switch and 10 amps fuse in the positive wire. Will it work without any safety issues?

I'm also planning to install the accucharger, and your idea of the connection with fuse sounds good.Originally posted by arya809 View Postpsr Divya Sharan

Are you planning on a mobile mount too?
If yes, which one? And where do you plan to fix it?

Thanks for the suggestions, I went ahead and installed it my way. I used a 3 amp fuse.
I bought a big 10 amp switch to avoid melting. The positive wire runs from the charger to the battery with the switch and fuse in between.
The complete setup is under the seat on the right side. The usb cable is the only thing that comes out to avoid theft etc. Normally I would keep this cable tucked inder the seat and take it out only as per need. It comes out easily from the gap between seat and fuel tank.

It's very simple diy bro, you can go ahead and do it yourself. For starters, purchase the accucharger. I can send pics if u want.
I am not sure about the mobile mount yet. But I have seen pics on xbhp of somebody's zmr with a mobile mount glued to the air vents in the fairing. The air vents which look like car ac vents slightly lower and on both sides of the meter console. That person had used araldite to glue the mount permanently.
Buy a good quality mobile mount which has a firm grip, preferably a locking kind in which the mobile comes out only when u pull it out yourself.

Yes, I intend to install it myself only, but my main confusion is with the mount.Originally posted by arya809 View PostDivya Sharan

My whole reason of getting a bike Charger is to be able to keep my phone charging while mounted on the bike as a GPS device (which drains the battery pretty fast).
I'm looking for a safe waterproof enclosure type mount, that would hold my 5.5" Moto X Play safely. Something like this:
We cannot attach a handle bar mount on a ZMR, due to lack of space.
However, trouble is, I don't see one that'd hold a 5.5" screen device, unless they are super expensive. Also, I'm not sure where to mount it so that if doesn't interfere with the handle bar movement, or obstruct view to the console or vibrate/shake too much.
Any ideas, folks?

That's indeed a really good option for touring!Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostIf you're intention to use GPS is only while touring then check "rynox navigator tank bag".
But I was looking for a more general purpose daily use kinda solution. [emoji4]

K&N RC-1060 for Karizma Zmr- Help
Hi,
So I've ordered the RC-1060 from amazon for my 2011 Karizma Zmr.
There were a few things that I wanted to know:
1) When I install the air filter should I just take the stock one out and install the new one and screw everything back(the carb/box cover)??
2) Do I need to make any changes in my bike to get the best out of the product ? Or will I get the best out of it by simply installing it ?
3) Are there any precautions that I should take after installing it ?
4) How to clean it properly...
Thanks
One more thing guys which isn't related to the filter, today I checked the fuses. And there were 4 of them, one for clock, one for odo and two for ignition and 2 spare.
But only 1 fuse was actually connected the other one was just resting in the plastic, should it be like that ? Or is it broken ?
Thanks again

There were a few things that I wanted to know:
You "may" need to cut/remove the stock air filter box. Also, the bike is fuel injected, thus it has no carburetor.1) When I install the air filter should I just take the stock one out and install the new one and screw everything back(the carb/box cover)??
Frankly speaking, it does more harm than good. Yes, you will have a placebo effect because the bike would growl and make more noise, but it won't do justice to the money spent. Also, since K&N has bigger pores; it would allow more dust to go into the engine, thereby reducing its life.2) Do I need to make any changes in my bike to get the best out of the product ? Or will I get the best out of it by simply installing it ?
If one is really intent on drawing more power through air filter mods (regardless of reduced engine life), then one must do the corresponding mods to the exhaust as well. If on gets a better breathing air filter (K&N, UNI etc); one must install a free flow exhaust too.
P.S - you could have got the same kick as a K&N for free. By simply removing the snorkel from underneath the seat.
Well, keep it away from water. While washing that is. Also, ensure you keep cleaning the filter while it/engine lasts. Avoid dusty areas.3) Are there any precautions that I should take after installing it ?
You get K&N cleaning kits online. Order one.4) How to clean it properly...

Clock - 7.5 A
Ignition - 7.5 A
Lights - 15 A
Spares - 7.5 A, 15 A
Main switch (starter relay) - 20 A
Spare (starter relay) - 20 A

Thanks
It would be a lot easier if you mentioned the make of your bike as well. Since I merged one post of yours, I guessed you maybe talking about the ZMR. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It'll be moved to the correct thread.
First, get your forks checked. Air pressure too. Then the handle bars.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
