As I asked radiator, they gave the oil cooler which I needed. It was just Rs. 1500/. I have changed the clutch plates also. ASC qouted
    1. clutch plates --- 1450
    2. pressure plate -- 180
    3. steel plate -- 254
    4. clutch bell -- 240 Everything approx
    total Rs. 21XX.00

    I got from outside market

    1. clutch plates
    (makino brand) -- 200
    2. pressure plate -- 140
    3. steel plate -- 194
    4. clutch bell -- 212
    total 750 approx

except clutch plate all others are OE.

After changing clutch plates the vehicle is much smoother and gear shifts are easier and smoother. My bro had a long trip on it around 1000km. The review is positive. When I took the bike for a short 50 km trip I felt the engine heats up much inside the city. Even before changing oil cooler it was lesser, after changing the oil cooler the heat was higher. I cant tolerate it.

Also as the speed rises the vibration rises and the vibration is much harsher in rear footpeg after 70 kmph. What can I do now. please help.
What engine oil are you using? HH oil? If so it may be the culprit for footpeg vibes. Try a fully synthetic like Motul7100 10w40 next time.
From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.

Hi, now I am using Mico 4T 20w40 SJ. Let me try next time. I have a lubricant shop and I have Motul 300V and 7100 10w40. Which will be best, 300V or 7100. Thanks for your help fast_ferociuos.

Yes bro, the nuts are tight.. Checked them in the beginning itself! Put some jelly too to avoid contact resistance from rust formation.

          1. First make sure no loose contact in wire connections.
          2. Check all the fuses (under the seat and on the right side near battery)

If all ok then go for a new battery, BTW how old is the battery ?
Yes, they are all fine! Also when I gave the battery to recharge, after 5hours, the reading was 6.3V. The guy said its fully charged.
I had my doubts and called up Divya bro to clarify. It should have been 12v.
Rite now, when I take the bike out for a spin, the battery charges and I get no issue when I crank.

I wouldn't recommend a Fully synthetic oil for ZMR.. Oil would start leaking.. My take would be to go for Shell AX7 or the Veedol Swift.. Though I haven't used Veedol Swift, I heard this is the best for all the Hero Bikes... AX7 is one of the best I have used till date..

First of all, it was my pleasure to help you out and second of all, I am sorry I couldn't get the spare for you from here. They didn't have it in stock..

Vibrations from footpegs.. have you lubricated the Chain? if yes, what did you use to lubricate?

Check the oil condition. how much has your bike completed with that oil??

I have used Shell ultra and Motul 7100 10w40. Did not face any leaks. But switched to Hero SVC oil last month and now I see a couple of drops after overnight parking.

You see the point? I wouldnt say mineral oil causes leak but I may need to replace the oil seals.

Any idea anyone how much time it takes for oil seal change in ZMR?

The ever lasting issue of starter relay going bust appeared again, at least that's what I thought. I was returning from office negotiating BLR crater filled roads when the bike stalled and console reset. Pulled it to the side of the road and opened battery compartment. I have started carrying 2 kg tools with me to office daily.
Well, it was only a loose connection due to bumpy roads. Dusted the ends of the relay and fit back and the bike started as if nothing had happened.

The ODO stands at 81,760 km as of now. 9th Jan 2016 would mark it's 5th anniversary. I hope to touch 85k by then.

                    Thank you reneav,
ha..ha.. hope you enjoyed the movie... Chain and sprocket was a new one from OE. I always lubricate with OKS two wheeler chain spray. Engine oil too was changed before 300 km. HH recommends 10w30SJ. AFAIK when an engine runs in higher rpm often it is advisable to use 20w50 grade as in higher speeds the oil film would be thin and higher viscosity oil would maintain lubrication well. The downside is when the engine is cold the oil would take little time to fully circulate costing 2 min idling period at startup.

Is there is a need to change spark plug? Is there a better one.

Anytime bro. feels good to be back to the forum after a while, thanks to your birthday.. [emoji14]

Slight problems with my zmr. When i try to maintain a certain rpm, say 4k the bike keeps going between 3.8k and 4.2k. This is really annoying in traffic. What could be the issue?

The spark plug is 12k kms old, and so is the air filter.. Engine oil is 2k kms old (shell ultra fs 10w40)

Well it's time you changed the plug and air filter replacement is overdue. Does clutch burn as well? What's the ODO count?

The odo is at 22500 odd now. Yes I had missed a service interval after the ooty ride. I'll change the plug and filter asap. ( no time cuz work started and Saturdays are working too )
