Hi all.. Celebrated 5 yrs of my ZMR last week. Clocked 28000. I know this is too less a number but I was out of India for a year.

I love the bike v.much and it hasn't given me any major troubles. Only regular services plus replacing the wear & tear items. Tyres are not yet replaced. It has mostly given me a consistent fuel efficiency of ~38-40 kmpl.

1 thing that bothers me is the vibrations from around the speedo.. they've become very irritating in the last few months. Hero Service is a BIG TIME FAILURE when it comes to ZMR - at least here in Hyderabad. I've tried different ASCs but none of them could reduce the irritating vibration from around the console.

I am irritated to the point that I sometimes literally think of Selling the bike.. only because of these vibration sounds. If vibrations are fixed, this machine is a gem! You guys have any advice for this? Does anyone know of any place in and around Hyderabad who can fix this?

Congratulations, I'll be completing 5 years very soon and done a little above 40k only.

Regarding vibrations, I guess it's pretty common as fiber gets old. Even I'm getting vibes from different places. Once I fix at one part in few days some other area will start

I guess we need to live with it.

No, I don't believe so. The vibrations come from around the console, and have started once when the fairing/console covers were disassembled for some reason.

I am pretty sure a pair of good hands is what is needed.

P.S. I own a Maruti Alto.. and it had manyy (yes manyyyy) different sounds of screws and nuts and body and what not! I learnt to live by it until a friend introduced me to his mechanic.
One service from him and my car is Butter now. Not even a single sound even on bad roads.

I'm not comparing the car with the bike, but just removing some vibrations should not be rocket science, right?

It definitely is not rocket science. I have successfully got the vibration arrested when occurred, I do it myself by trial n errors. But every time with age if sound starts coming from different places it's hard. I am waiting so that vibes increase drastically so that I can open up whole fairing and do some proper packing.

Well, i can say my bike has almost zero vibes! Almost but yeah, feels great. Divya Sharan had advised once to use rubber tubes or double sided tapes and joints and gaps in the fairing. Its worked for me:thumbup:

Hi can you tell me what sort of cover is that which is on the seat? I have seen many motorcycles here in Bangalore with this kind of cover and I think the structure of the material allows air to flow under one's rear end while seated (which would be great for long rides)
What is this cover/net material called and has anyone seen it on Pulsar's split seats (I haven't, so far)

Honeycomb seat covers. Terrible during long rides. It hurts your behind after you've ridden for 2 hours or so because of the not so soft material type used to make the honeycomb.
Also, all sorts of insects find their way into the gaps and it's a nightmare cleaning them.

I personally am a big fan of the honeycomb mesh covers. Water seeps right through in the rains and dries out instantly. Never heats up in the summers too. I have it over my stock cover.. Works fine!

Oh. But totally agree with Divya on the fact that cleaning it is a bit tedious.. I have to wash it and follow it up with a "blow" from my vacuum cleaner.

The cover you see in the pic has been used for 4-5 months, and I do not remember trying to clean the seat cover specifically. This maybe because I have not had any long rides (100+ kms) after getting the seat cover. I find it comfortable for my use - daily commute of 40-50kms (70% city 30% higway-ish city)

I guess you're all talking about the porous seat cover that's trending these days. Though people say it feels good etc. When it comes to long runs, it will make your ass hurt so bad, that you'd want to get it chopped off. And this is the same for all seat covers, and not to mention even wearing the wrong kinda underwear can also cause discomfort when it comes to touring.
