Re: Weird Engine noise
14600 something the sound synchs with the idle sound it is not audible while riding and sometimes the sound is absent it occurs mostly during cold start and disappears after 10kms or soOriginally posted by VIJAY BHUYAN88 View Post

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hi Friends,
Long time since I have been to xbhp...
Yesterday figured petrol leakage from the fuel tank. Immediately ran to ASC and found to have 2 big holes and 6 small ones.. This is due to rust!!!
My bike stands in sun and rain for almost 11 hours a day during my office timings.
Got the leakage welded for now, as I was not eager to change the fuel tank. Can anyone please let me know how to avoid this in future?
Did anyone else faced the same issue. If the tank so pron to leakage??

Woha !! Not a good thing.. But bike standing in sun / rain for 10-11 hours a day is very common. Even mine stands in open parking during office hours. Shouldn't it harm the outer area of tank which is exposed rather than under the tank ??Originally posted by antan_shank View PostHi Friends,

I will let the experts talk about it.. Looks like we will need to get rust treatment done.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
There is a thick layer on top of the paint. Keep WD40/Zorrick spray with you from now on and keep spraying it on:Originally posted by antan_shank View PostYesterday figured petrol leakage from the fuel tank.
1. Switches
2. Cables
3. Chain (not often)
4. Circuits (except joints of course - this is just to eliminate rust on wires)
at every 5-8k km.
For now, if you want to save the existing tank;
1. Take it out.
2. Drain all fuel (it may already contain particles to clog injectors/screw engine).
3. Sand paper the insides and underbelly.
4. Sand blast/wet sand the insides and underbelly (again).
5. Electroplate the whole thing.
6. Prime coat with 2 layes. Use anti rust primer. Let it dry for 1 full day IN SHADE
7. Paint - 3 to 4 coats minimum. Only the outer area and under belly.
The whole circus would cost you 50% of a new tank, but needs a few days.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Wont the spray get washed if I wash the bike?? For now my mechanics did everything except drying it for a day.. It was dried for 4-5 hours. I needed the bike on same day.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostThere is a thick layer on top of the paint. Keep WD40/Zorrick spray with you from now on and keep spraying it on:

Should I spray the tank now?

I can just say, 36K crossed on stock chain sprocket and still will go strong atleast for 2-3K Km more. Thanks to 90 gear oil that I use for my chain.Originally posted by vishnurajanme View Post25000 Kilometers!!!
Planning to change the chain/sprocket.
Also front and back disk pads.
Any recommendations?
Anything else to change??

Spraying paint over existing rust will not hold. Follow the steps mentioned by Divya SharanOriginally posted by antan_shank View PostWont the spray get washed if I wash the bike?? Replied inline.Originally posted by antan_shank View PostWont the spray get washed if I wash the bike?? Yes it would. You'll have to plan your sprays.
Should I spray the tank now? Won't help. Spraying over rust won't help.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
