    Exactly my point!
Wear cycling shorts instead. If you have padded seats, wear boxers. Do NOT wear a frenchie and cry rashes ahead!

Looks like my chain is causing vibrations. With heavy lubing, vibrations will subside for a day or two, again it will be back to square one !! It's about 20k kms since the last change, I guess it is time to change the sprocket kit considering I am running without chain case.

As I run without case, I am considering O ring sealed chain. What options do I have ?

Should I just buy "O" ring sealed chain of new ZMR or P220 ?

Should I buy full new kit of new ZMR ? -- Not sure if it's compatible.

Should I buy full new set of old ZMR + P220 chain ? -- I wish only sprockets were available in market.

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Edit - About honeycomb seat.

After rains, I can wipe the normal seat with a cloth and ride without getting my trousers wet. Is it possible on honeycomb ?

        2.75 inches is close to 70mm (69.85), 80mm is 3.14961 inches.

Well, we cannot fix ZMR v2 sprockets on our bikes. Some slight size difference of 1.5mm or so is there as explained by Psr sir in the past.
Why do you want to change the sprocket configuration? Want even more low end grunt?

When did I say I want to change sprocket configuration?

I just want o-ring sealed chain. Even psr sir has said sprocket config & chain links are same except width on new zma. I have posted on zma thread asking a question to psr sir. My question was, 1.5mm increase in drive shaft is bcz of chain width or wider swing arm.

I went through Shivang's CBR thread a while back. So I sat down with a piece of pen and paper and constructed a hypotherical scenario.
Consider I want to buy a well cared for ZMR. A friend tips me off about DS' 2011 model ZMR.
              Let's do the math now.
OTR price of the bike - 99,982 rupees.
              Current IDV - 58,200 rupees.
              ODO - 74,800 km
Parts that may require change/maintenance in the near future:
              1. Clutch plates + pressure plates.
              2. Sprocket set.
              3. Timing chain.
              4. Engine head de carb.
              5. Battery.
              6. Front brake pads.
              7. A new headlight assy - slightly burnt/dimmed reflectors.
              8. Repaint the fairing. It is turning yellowish.
              9. Paint peeling off rims, front shocks, rims, engine cover case etc.
              10. Front fender - has a small crack from July 12, 2014's accident.
              11. Right handlebar - has a very slight bend from the same accident which was corrected as much as possible.
              12. Engine internals - valves and piston + rings - purely due to age, no visible/audible tantrums so far.

Anything that I missed? Spark plug, tires and cables are new. Chassis/frame is fine.

Even with the above mentioned stuff, I'm looking at a bill of at least 15 to 18k with labor. That means a resale value of 40k. Too less IMO.

DS isn't happy with the offered price (he was never interested but still decided to play) and shrugged me away. So much for caring for your vehicle.

If selling, never spend on repairs. Sell as is. Else you will end selling a fully restored bike for peanuts.

Well, I wouldn't let the new owner suffer.

Next will be after 100k km. Kari stays though.
A proper upgrade would be a Busa IMHO.

Hello mates. My friend recently took over his brothers zmr. Its in a pretty bad state.
                      1) engine revs high without any acceleration - clutch plate replacement?
                      2) engine overheating - I have no idea
                      3) engine warning light keeps blinking for 7 times in a sequence - no idea too.
                      4) excessive vibrations - is that a generic problem?
P.S its a 5 year old bike. Would be nice if you guys can give a list of things to be checked. TIA. :-)

Let's start with throttle cables and throttle body. May be stuck with grime or worn out. Then check for clutch plate.

                        2) engine overheating - I have no idea

Is the oil cooler in good shape? Are the fins bent?

                        3) engine warning light keeps blinking for 7 times in a sequence - no idea too.

Loose connection somewhere? Open up all electricals and check for rust.

                        4) excessive vibrations - is that a generic problem?

Open all screws and put a rubber washer (salvage it from a cycle/scooter tube) along and tighten them back. Check for broken plastics. Use Araldite to fix it.

                            Few more questions:
                            1. When was the engine oil changed?
                            2. When were air filter and spark plug changed?

You can look up my signature to see if you find anything important.

Removed chain guard at around 1~2k on the ODO, changed chain at 56.2k on the ODO. So still think running without a chain guard makes much of a difference. as long as you lube it with the appropriate oil all's good

I clean and lube once in 300-400 kms. Clean with WD40 and lube with w140 gear oil. Apart from vibrations on foot peg, I don't have any other problem. When I lube the chain, it will be good for a day or two.
