After over 45000kms in my ZMR within one year, the fairings seem to rattle even more.. I guess the extreme riding conditions must have caused loosening up the fitting points! Rode this bike in worst ever roads even 4WD vehicles dare to go, nicely designed ground clearence caused no troubles though.. Used Mobil1 10W40 FS from 5000kms so the engine remains the same without any kind of repair for the past 40000kms, one hell of a oil and engine too, so much of torture but never let me down! This behaviour of my ZMR made me just a reader for this blog! But let me share some tips for you..
* I started using SAE 90 oil to lubricate the chain from say 4k kms, did the lubrication for every 500kms or so usualy before every long ride, to my suprise, chain and sprockets still are not worn out!, Engineer at the svc too hard to believe it, and no chain sound at all and no adjustments outside 3k kms service intervals too, so suggest you to use the SAE 90 oil to lubricate the chain..
* Switched to Mobil1 10W40 was the best thing happend to my ZMR, engine felt as it is brand new everytime I start it, less noise, less heat, no clutch plate wear observed as yet, feels like wear and tear is minimum inside, didnt have any trouble, So best oil around! (Change it every 6k kms..)
* Using brakes in proper way required me to change brake pads twice in front and once in rear for all this while, that second replace for front brake pads done only at 41k too, that too changed even before they wore out completely. So be gentle on your brakes!
* I change my air filter in every 6k kms at svc, so engine breathes clean air, means better health inside, ultimately better engine life!
* Being gentle on throttle and ride at correct speeds in correct gears gives me a smoother and comfortable riding experience with milage.. Once cleaned the injector at around 30k kms (5min job at svc) Avg milage is aroud 45kmpl
* Using NGK G-Power, Osram NB Plus 55/60W headlight, SMD LED for pilot and numberplate bulbs(to reduce the load on the battery) from the start.. Battery changed once only around 23k kms!
* Absolutley no modification done!
As I said I have taken this bike for super extremes of riding conditions.. Once rode for over 80kms mostly on 1st gear for almost 6hours when riding through a tough mountaineuos forest path with full of rocks with steep climbs and decends(thought the forks will bend, but they didn't), and once rode for over 800kms at a stretch without stopping(apart fuel filling- 5mins) at around 100kmph speeds, 1200kms in a single day. Long tours on almost every weekends too, usually 2-300kms at a stretch..
So the bike has been tested to its extremes and following above metioned important habits probably gave it the resistance required to tolarate and also made me a satisfied rider too.. So you guys too can consider them as well, but those are solely based on my experience with my ZMR!
It is your call on deciding what would be good for your ride, and mind you it needs some experience too!Last edited by Dan_GP; 09-20-2012, 10:17 AM.

Regarding chain cleaning and lubrication i would definately like to follow you.Originally posted by Dan_GP View PostI started using SAE 90 oil to lubricate the chain from say 4k kms, did the lubrication for every 500kms or so usualy before every long ride, to my suprise, chain and sprockets still are not worn out!, Engineer at the svc too hard to believe it, and no chain sound at all and no adjustments outside 3k kms service intervals too, so suggest you to use the SAE 90 oil to lubricate the chain..

I think Mobil 10w40 is the best suited engine oil for ZMR as most of the owners having good experience with it. Even i am having a great experience covered almost 5000 kms with the oil and still going,Last edited by dhiraj; 09-20-2012, 12:05 PM.Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

Oops , how i forgot it , sorry for it bro . Yes that post helped me .Originally posted by Dan_GP View PostWell, I did my best bro, hope you can remember, just cannot find the related posts
For all, Please don't play with those nuts, you will end up with a useless headlight, unless and otherwise presicion adjustments applied which needs a lot of patience and skills to correct it!
For all , don't try this at home , it is supposed to be done by professionals
Thanks for sharing , i too using SAE 90 gear oil , earlier i always have chain loosing / noise problem upto first 2000 km , then got the Volvoline SAE 90 Gear oil which is really good , no problem of noise there after . Will shift to Mobil1 10W40 after either 10,000 or 15,000 km .Originally posted by Dan_GP View PostAfter over 45000kms in my ZMR within one year, the fairings seem to rattle even more.. Today while reading the KTM thread...some owners has reported problem of Engine Stalling..during deceleration after high RPM's and idling instability...and this is due to ECU...to resolve ECU was remapped...
I too had a similar problem...occurs 2/3 times...could it be also a ECU problem in my ZMR?

yeah i will take it to the svc and will tell them to check the surrounding areaOriginally posted by abhi7013 View PostThere's a screw for adjusting height of the beam. Below the console. Just check the area surrounding it.. And the underside of the console..
thanks
i am not able to find vishnurajanmeOriginally posted by Above_All View PostCheck for the inner bolts above the back side of headlight assembly , but don't touch the two #10 bolts on both side below the headlight reflector back as they are for adjusting the light spread .
Also check the 2 bolts holding the fairing which are below & near the horns .
yeah i get it checked in the surrounding area by the svc people

+1 to thatOriginally posted by shivakrish View Postguys i have got a logical doubt.. among the ownership threads we have the least amount of pages i guess
actually the most shocking thing is tat the "PULSAR 200NS" thread has more no of pages when compared to us !!

there are not so many active users unlike the other threadLast edited by Praj zm; 09-22-2012, 10:00 AM.

there are not so many active users unlike the other threadAs some one sharing info in the P200NS thread, I find the thread is in it's infancy just like the bike...Owners are perplexed with small problems, and most of the reported problems are on FE ,Running in procedure and tuning the carburetor.Bajaj dealers are also adding to their woes....so many posts are repeats and on confirmation of problems, and their remedy...Most owners are youngsters unlike ZMR which has more experienced and mature owners...Besides the ZMR is a proven technology of Honda ,while P200NS is still in it's infancy...my guess is ,....soon it will settle down .Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostIn continue of the above...ZMR owners faces very less no of issues....so less no of posts...Last edited by psr; 09-22-2012, 11:53 AM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
