      2. On Highways
      3. Collaborating the both a final mixed approx mileage which you guys have seen for yourself.

As this is a dedicated ZMR thread, ihope my queries will finally be put to rest with the amount of awesome experiences you all people have.

Looking forward to hear all your views

      Thanks in advance fellas!

      Why not use CASTROL? huh!
I have used Castrol Power 1 Racing 10W50... not good enough... Lasted for only 1200KM... not upto the expectations as it used to be earlier.

      Will be trying Shell soon...

When the OE pads were not available for Ninja we had fitted the ZMA pads on to Ninja front Disc brake..but it lacked the bite of OE pads...
So when we tried to experiment for better stopping power in a ZMA, I had personally fitted a Ninja Sintered metal front brake pads in a 2011 ZMA WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM...it is a straight fit.
Both Ninja and ZMA have Nissin brake units of same dimension and configuration for front Disc brake.

          Sir,
Probably they should fit as ZMR Front Pads as well since they are same with ZMA, I guess.
The first time I changed Pad for 2400 INR which was the HONDA marked in the packet.
As per the SVC it was used for ZMA.
Nowadays these NISSIN are available and made in India, I guess.

Nissin has a factory in India..and the Ninja Sintered metal pads have better stopping power than organic OE pads.....The RTR pads also fit exactly in ZMA and costs just 350/-...it is VFM,since I am presently using it for past 1,000 Kms and is as good as OE Nissin pads.

            • Wow!! Missed some nice discussions in the past few days.
Satyajit - I definitely admire you man for keeping a track of your expenses. This is something I would surely do at least for my next bike whenever I buy one

Even I have rough calculations of service cost and maintenance but not as good as how you have kept.

Coming to Brake Pads - Finally, A Nice discussion! since it's time for me to change my brake pads in my next pit stop.
So from what I got from the above posts from psr and satyajit is that apart from our brake pads sold at HMC we also have an option to switch to N250R brake pads & we also have an option to switch to RTR's pads.

First question is are we talking about both front and read pads or is it just front that we can replace. If it is both, then how long can RTR pads last considering it costs very less.

FYI - I have used the HMC brake pads now for close to 25,000 kms and it is due for change now. AFAIK, I paid 1200 odd for the front brake pad and 1150 for rear.

Time for some pictures too for this thread, Did an offroad ride last week to Tansa Lake. ZMR did it with ease and no issues with ground clearance too

yes i have used RTR pads for nearly 8000 kms in my ZMR but after 3 accidents in 6 months i decided to move back to OE nissin pads
my reviews with the RTR pads is:
initially they were as good as OEM but after 2k kms i faced a problem ie they are not at all good when the lever was pressed with only first finger, so i faced the problem during panic braking situations in which i use only first finger to press the lever in which the pads tends to be useless resulted collision with the rear of the vehicle in front of me.
now i will try the ninja's pads after this im using

@sachin: "First question is are we talking about both front and read pads or is it just front that we can replace. If it is both, then how long can RTR pads last considering it costs very less."
If you have a habit of pressing the lever with one finger then RTR pads are not a good idea. Being made up of a little harder material, RTR pads will ruin the disc sooner than OEM [PS: this is told by the head mechanic of my SVC so i dont know the genunity of the past statement]. Regarding the rear u still have to rely on OEM pads.

however my next modification will be ninja brake pads and steel braided hose of P220.

my friend had similar type of problem with his front brakes of hunk, he also tried cleaning the pads at SVC but the noise comes back in 1-2 days. he kept on riding the bike now the problem went off completely automatically.

                            Hi,

I don't think it's radium. It's a different material altogether and it looks amazing when checked in RVM and when the bike approaches you

Yes, My front tire is Duro which is 90/90 18" Tubeless type.
Initially Duro felt uncomfortable when compared to previous M45 I had however steadily I got used to it. It does not handle well in hard braking so I would change to M35 when I change my tire.
In all, it is better than stock and not as good as the Michelin's
