1. Good Reliable Engine..
You can get reliable engines from Hero Moto, Honda and Yamaha
2. Low maintenance.

3. Mileage should be 40+ (As my daily run will be 35kms)
In ZMR you can get 40+ easily...
4. Wont Change Bike In 5 Yrs..
Consider CBR150 too...as said by psr...with CBR 150 plus points from ZMR (except from engine capacity and torque)...will be liquid cool engine...split seats...wider tyres...more mileage....Last edited by veryhiphop; 04-26-2012, 12:20 PM.

If Reliability is your concer and you have mentioned 5 years as the running time. Dont go in for the existing P220 (I faced hell lot of issues, even after timely servicing and never ripping the bike). The options that suit you best are ZMR, R15 and also checkout the DUKE 200.Originally posted by sandip_aeie View PostFirst of all "hi" to Everyone as i am new here.

The Duke is an awesome machine with technology oozing out from every angle. All the best!when the strech is empty, my bike tells me to wring its throttle and give my commands!

1. Like Satyajitrc said check the silencer cover screws...otherwise on a relaxed day in the morning put your bike on main stand and shake and check which of ,shock absorber, main stand, loose chain, loose panier, loose sari guard etc., make noise.Originally posted by raghav-zmr View Postfirst one: my bike makes a metal clinging sound on most speed breakers and potholes.or when i give a sudden acceleration." It is the sound when a metal strikes the other !" do u guys have any idea about it?
second:i hear a constant "tak-tak" sound when i rev a little.
third :my gear-shift is still hard after 7.8k kms
2. the Tak Tak while accelerating could be due to front or rear sprocket not tightened properly or damaged chain link...if you remove the lock and take out the chain link, you will see the rollers are damaged...alternatively just replace the link and see....you can try the Bullet chain link ,putting extra plate on lock side(since it's stem are longer ).
3. Hard Gear shift indicates thin or worn out oil. change to 20w40 of Motul,Gulf,Valvoline,or Shell make.
Thanks for update...on the spec sheet ,and in picture, the CBR 150R is impressive...and Honda's are known for good trouble free engines...but off late half ready models are hitting the roads, ruining their reputation. The CBR150R thread has many owners praising it's actual ride quality, and hence suggested it..Originally posted by satyajitrc View PostWould interrupt you for CBR 150R.
Have personally checked it from close and TD but sadly HONDA missed out.
Quality (Fit & Finish) is pathetic as usual and the mind invariably shifts to the Colors.
Really feeling Sorry for HONDA as again like the initial batches of 250R this lot will have some problems.
Raghav,
Check your Silencer Cover screws and Tappet though later is unlikely within 8000 Kms.

Chain
Hi,
today gave my bike for servicing. the ASC guy was insisting that the chain should be replaced as it has reached its adjustment end. I asked him to please explain which he couldn't so i told him not to change.
Please let me know how we can determine when to change the chain. any pics will help in dispelling any further queries at one go so most welcome....WARNING!! Objects seen in Mirror are Disappearing Rapidly!!!!!!

Chain sprocket requires changing after say x kilometers...
There are specifically 4 DIFFERENT tests that can be performed before the mech lays his hands on them.
1) The swingarm adjustment nut should reach the end of the entire scale.
2) When you hear the chain banging the guard at all times, If you can hear it banging even after keeping it at the last scale then yes it requires replacement.
3) Check the tooth of the rear sprocket, at times that is the only thing which requires replacement and not the chain. Wooven edges is the culprit.
4) Slackness loss, try to join both the loops together at mid swingarm location even after keeping it at the end. If you can then yes you need a new chain.
Conduct these small tests and you have your answers.
EDIT - i do not go by the noise level as some chains require lubrication and the noise is gone, but if it requires replacing then the noise would/wouldnt does not make a difference. So dont go by that way where the chain makes noise when rotating, it has got nothing to do with replacement.Last edited by Eshan-P180; 04-27-2012, 12:05 PM.sigpic

Satyajit, maybe you are a little exaggerating on the quality of CBR150R. Today I checked the CBR150R closely for a good amount of 15 minutes. The quality, fit, and finish are really good; of course may be a bit below than the R-15 V2.Originally posted by satyajitrc View PostSir,

Personally I prefer CBR150R to ZMR at this time. Though ZMR is a good bike, CBR150R is better in every aspect. Being its a Honda product, I assure you about the engine reliability. Better go for CBR150R as you intend to keep the bike for at least 5 years. The spares for CBR150R will definitely lower than a ZMR (regarding outer panels).Originally posted by sandip_aeie View PostThanks Everyone...

Hey guys do you use wax on front visor / windscreen of ZMR ?
I got collinite 845 liquid wax . They said to use it on painted surface , not on black plastics / fiber such as dashboards .
But no idea about that visor / windscreen . Should i use on it or not ?
