Sir, I have got these inputs from you on ZMA thread. I am planning to do a through cleanup of carb and then retune it. So I didn't try to apply brake oil and try open the screw. For now, the tuning seems to be good with linear power deliver throughout the rpm band, so doesn't want to fiddle with it myself. Will do this with the help of a good mechanic under my supervision.Originally posted by psr View PostTry applying brake oil on the AFR screw and repeatedly soak it for 15 minutes before trying to make it turn...WD 40 and Zorrick also work well, but the brake oil seemed to be better in loosening up the AFR screw.
NGK G Power definitely gives better FE with same setting .
I asked Sriram to courier some G-Power plugs, as I am not able to source the g-power plugs here in Hyderabad; waiting for them.
It will not invalidate the warranty. I don't know the exact price of it, but it would be around 200 rupees max.Originally posted by siddharth_ZMR View Postsir, thanks for the reply. the tyre is truly magical on off road and all, but I am facing issues with wet braking on tarmac!!!Last edited by rakesh_zmr; 04-30-2012, 02:29 PM.All the wise men of the world are called wise only after they spoke their mind, so dont keep the ideas to yourselves!

on tarmac as well its proving much better then stock tyre..but its not strictly meant for tarmac like Pirelli Sports Demon n all..but surely in my case its performing just like the way i want it to perform,on road as well as off road..Originally posted by rakesh_zmr View Postthe tyre is truly magical on off road and all, but I am facing issues with wet baking on tarmac!!!

The G Power is meant to give better FE and cold starts..I had so far done about 2,500 Kms on it...from day one it increased the FE, without my doing any other change in bike...it went up from 32 Kms per liter to 40+ in city.....and on the highway from 40+ to 45...I ride between 60 to 90 Kmph to just crawling in city, and on the Highway between 100 to 120 Kmph.It is the improvement in city FE which was stunning for me.. I had always used 20w40 mineral engine oil only....mainly Gulf Pride, Motul, and now Valvoline.Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostFor G power...well give a try....not much costly as iridium...check the plug according to ZMR...
Plug no is DPR8EGP
The G power costs about 140 to 150 rupees.
My previous plug was NGK DPR8EAWhen Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

One doubt!
Guys,
am looking to buy my first bike (virtually, cause i own my dad's HH CD Deluxe now for the past year for my college trips).
Looking for a tourer, and yeah ZMR stands in top in the list.
but, is it okay to buy a bike with apparently old tech? <seriously, no offense guys> it was the first tourer section bike to proudly roar in Indian roads and since then had only little changes from ZMA to ZMR.
So, any recent buyers of ZMR out here?
How's the bike's touring capacity?
Can i go with it?
Will i get company support in terms of service atleast for 5 years from noe?The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

the little change that you are talking about also consist of pgm-fi which allows zmr to deliever excellent mileage, torque and power delivery. As for touring capability - i did 2400 kms in 4 days which included highways, Little rann of kutch and sand... the bike never failed me and even returned 50kmpl.... If you want ranking.. At present the best tourer is cbr IMO.... But if budget cant be stretched till there then a ZMR then a ZMA , then P220Originally posted by neevarp16 View PostGuys,

The company can service you for next 5 years unless something big like a great great dipression hits our economy and the automobile sector goes for a toss.... In that scenario i doubt any other company would survive....Last edited by siddharth_ZMR; 04-30-2012, 08:03 PM.WARNING!! Objects seen in Mirror are Disappearing Rapidly!!!!!!

Sorry, for being so rude in that part mate!Originally posted by siddharth_ZMR View Postthe little change that you are talking about also consist of pgm-fi which allows zmr to deliever excellent mileage, torque and power delivery.
Firstly, thanks for your reply!
But, what i was asking that is, can i buy a ZMR now in this situation??
With Hero and Honda parted, sure as ZMR is a baby of Honda, how Hero is planning to provide the service and handle the spares part of it after Honda withdraws its support wholly, which is not days far away?
As its current owners, I thought you could really provide me some useful info on that!? Or, any new buyer could actually know something I guessed! The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)
