am looking to buy my first bike (virtually, cause i own my dad's HH CD Deluxe now for the past year for my college trips).

Looking for a tourer, and yeah ZMR stands in top in the list.

but, is it okay to buy a bike with apparently old tech? <seriously, no offense guys> it was the first tourer section bike to proudly roar in Indian roads and since then had only little changes from ZMA to ZMR.

So, any recent buyers of ZMR out here?
    How's the bike's touring capacity?
    Can i go with it?
Will i get company support in terms of service atleast for 5 years from noe?
5 years for any bike is a very long time and it would mean exceptional care and proper maintenance to be done to ensure you are able to ride it well for that long. Hence, my answer would be save a little more and buy the perfect machine.

If I would have been in your place hands down it would have been Honda CBR 250R. It is the perfect bike for our conditions and complete VFM.

If I take CBR 250R out of the option then specifically keeping in mind you need bike for touring and to be kept for a duration of around 5 years then you should test ride the new CBR 150R.

If you dont like either then narrow down to ZMR or if you can wait then wait for Yamaha to launch their 250cc.

      Firstly, thanks for your reply!

But, what i was asking that is, can i buy a ZMR now in this situation??

With Hero and Honda parted, sure as ZMR is a baby of Honda, how Hero is planning to provide the service and handle the spares part of it after Honda withdraws its support wholly, which is not days far away?

As its current owners, I thought you could really provide me some useful info on that!? Or, any new buyer could actually know something I guessed!
the agreement between honda and hero was more of a technology and r&d related.. Parting away of them would not effect spares or service by anyway as hero has its own spares manufacturing plant and its asc are widespread across the country. Personally i dont see any drop in service or spares level but not sure about new products from hero stable.
I completely agree with sachin on his ranking. Also a seperate thread would help you get more unbiased opinions. One suggestion for a new thread. If you have narrowed down on few bikes mention them in your post and ask others for their view only on those bikes. Otherwise a brand war starts soon and at times the discussion might go on meaninglessly. If there are any further queries we would be happy to reply

Probably ZMR should be top on the list, under my budget! Lets see if can extend it adding the suggestions of sachin. Will get back here, if i get any doubts!

          and thanks to Sachin too!

it will be great to have you in zmr owners list.... Just one last suggestion... In case of cbr 150r i would suggest to let some more time go and more owners review flow in and then decide. Keep checking its ownership thread.....

If you have problem with just leaky oil seals, they will not replace the forks. Replacing the leaky oil seals just works fine, as long as they do good job.

Hope you don't have any other issues with suspension except the oil seals. If this is the case, just stop worrying and enjoy the bike. Don't waste your time running around service centers.

I am not sure brother what kind of that wind shield is glossy or matt .
But applied a small amount & wipe out in 2 minits
No bad issue , feel smoother . Will try more later .

So is formula 1 create no issue then i think collinite would also be good for wind screen , tried for 2 minits will try for more time next time .

ZMR is good for touring . My friend got ZMR last month . I tested it .
Bike fell much smoother than mine , neutral can be found in one go .
Small changes in stickers & graphics . Like my speedometer console ( blue one 2011 ) has rpm range numbers smaller than his .
Hero have there parts supplier , though they have some problems in previous year with parts so some bikes have problems with camshaft , rocker but now all seems fixed . As no new bike having any issue .
As they have own sources for parts they can easily provide support for more than 5 years . If all goes good.

If there is oil leak in front shockup then it can be fixed with oil seal change , but don't know about rear . Also rear shockup are gas charged , so if you are feeling it is not working , then force them to change it . Use query form from HMC web , if they don't listen .

Hey, I just purchased the Karizma ZMR and trust me the niggles are Zero.
It is refined, smooth, and the PGM-FI factor really shows.
I had the same concerns like yours, but the reliability of a Honda engine is really good.

Tc and make the best choice. Good Luck!
when the strech is empty, my bike tells me to wring its throttle and give my commands!
