  • Homecoming of the Karizma ZMR

So Finally I am here, writing my very own First Impression report on Xbhp. Well, I previously owned the Pulsar 220 F and it faithfully served me 2.3 years with a few few hiccups. No complains today

Well,Xbhp has been a forum where I have learned to learn & not Envy, and I have learnt that well. After endless jumbling through post, threads, experiences, first-impression report, I own the mighty steed, the Karizma ZMR. This all thanks to JESUS & parents

Truth be told, I got bored of my Pulsar 220. The usual niggles, drop in performance, & the missing of the thrill leaded me to take the decision of buying a new bike. I was a wee-bit confused about which steed can satisfy my hunger. So I ventured out on a bike hunting spree. Nothing but performance would be considered, so I selected the KTM Duke 200, ZMR, & Pulsar 200NS. I was weary of the Pulsar because of the reliability issue (A pulsar owner, so do not pelt me with stones), KTM is an awesome machine, but my dad is an occasional rider, could not just think about myself , & finally the ZMR *sigh* *drool*

Boy-Oh-Boy, the ZMR made me fall in Love with her, the white screamed Purity, but at the same time grinned passion. So I was set, no worries about the downgrade of 4 bhp & upgrade of 9 kgs. I wanted a machine that was comfortable, reliable, worry-free and made me feel relaxed.

After being in the market for close to 3 years, the ZMR does not fail to be the eye-catcher, well it surely catches mine. The bike is a beauty, the paint-job, accessories, fit-and-finish, the crispness of the power delivery. I can rattle all night long. Nothing can Hero Motocorp do, to better it and create another league of par excellence.

The entire blue console looks gorgeous, the construction of parts are excellent. Seats are comfy, throttle is smooth, road-presence is mind-blowing, engine smoothness cannot be described in words and braking is crisp at the moment.

The Karizma ZMR is surely one-of-the-best motorcycles money can buy. If you are considering it, go for it. Performance wise, it is nothing compared to the Duke or P220, but this is a machine that promises to put a smile on your face, every time the starter button is pushed.

I would once again thank JESUS & my parents. Xbhp a big thanks to you for making me realize the passion if have for bikes.

Regarding deposit... Banks offer nearly 95% loan. So it depends on you how much you want to make downpayment. But when you have 40k cash it is anyday wise to put 40k as downpayment and take loan for the remaining amount only

          • Hi,
Saw a bubble in the brake oil reservoir. Its small. Should i go for complete drainage of oil and fill in new oil or the bubble isnt a cause for worry?

            • Hi folks..i have changed my engine oil(to shell advanced ultra) and i can say shifting gears is become smoother and engine noise is reduced. You can feel that when you ride longer distance but engine heat is not reduced. The only problem i had is tuck sound from front side while riding in bad roads. i cant found the problem and i asked service center guys but they also don't know the problem. Does anybody have same problem as mine?

                • One query people.

I just got my ZMR yesterday, now I have a concern. The handle does not feel very stable at low speed. It feels as if, it shifts with just a light weight shift!

                  Is it normal??
when the strech is empty, my bike tells me to wring its throttle and give my commands!

IMHO, the P220's handle bar is a tad more rigid and hence you might feel the ZMR's ones to be abit loose and unsteady. BUT, if the handle bar quivers or anything, then you might need to check a little deeper.

The Pulsar 200 NS can also be considered due to it's having the Duke's engine at a very good pricing.

first one: my bike makes a metal clinging sound on most speed breakers and potholes.or when i give a sudden acceleration." It is the sound when a metal strikes the other !" do u guys have any idea about it?
                          second:i hear a constant "tak-tak" sound when i rev a little.
third :my gear-shift is still hard after 7.8k kms

Very true and shifting from P220 to ZMR will have some difference in feel.

Waiting till July-2012 will give you a good option of P200.
Whatever you buy make sure the availability & quality of SVC at your place.
Since you are new to Biking this is very important.

                            Sir,
Would interrupt you for CBR 150R.
Have personally checked it from close and TD but sadly HONDA missed out.
Quality (Fit & Finish) is pathetic as usual and the mind invariably shifts to the Colors.
Really feeling Sorry for HONDA as again like the initial batches of 250R this lot will have some problems.

Check your Silencer Cover screws and Tappet though later is unlikely within 8000 Kms.
Change Engine Oil for Gear Shift issue.
