it has only run 9950kms
and i drive smoothly i never strain the engine except at times very rarely

Common issue.
Now my query:-
Need urgent info. I went for coffee out of ofc in the rains. Went sans the helmet. (sorry, but it was deliberate to listen to the sounds) I feel that the sound doesn't come entirely from the chain sprocket set. Rather, it feels like some busted ball bearing set! Can someone explain how the engine and the chain sprockets are connected? Any (and how many) ball bearings in between?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

If you are asking about the chain cover... YES i removed it myself. also the saree guardOriginally posted by Praj zm View Postdid u remove the chain sprocket yourself ?
and nice job

Haven't ever changed/removed the sprocket. I have done 18k as of now and i think they are still good to go. Well what is the suggested mileage after one should change the sprocket/ chain set?? point I should mention here is that i rarely use engine braking. I always pull the clutch and engage brakes. even when i need to slow down.
Thank youOriginally posted by veryhiphop View Postnice work done..best way to clean chain...

For me, the minimum has been 34 kmpl and maximum ~50 kmpl (150 kms @ 3.5K).Originally posted by Praj zm View Postmight be

Normally, the mileage sticks around 40-41 kmpl in city and 45 kmpl in highways.

Update(Aug 2012): The procedure for visiting Kas has changed and it is a BIG change. You have to pre-register yourself on a website. Only 2000 people per day would be allowed to visit the place. This is very good for the place, but not good for the visitors. There are many other ways this could have been done, but i am happy that at least something is being done. The website is Home. You have to give your details along with the number of people with you. Then you have to pay 10 rupees per person, bank details are given.
