  • nice and reliable service center in Mumbai

    Hello Friends,

I have exhausted all my free services and the last paid service I had given at Fort Point, Malad I was not satisfied with it. Can any of you please suggest a nice and reliable place where I could get my ZMR serviced. Now when I am paying, why not make full use of it

I have heard about the Reddy's at Goregaon from a friend. Do they service ZMR also? Please suggest... Also I am a bit concerned about the warranty policies if I get it serviced by other service centers other than the authorized Hero Motocorp Service centers.

    Thank you

Dude, the shop was closed. Seems there is some function there. Shall try tomorrow.

Ya bro, I did a few rides this year. Last week, made a Mysuru run!
That's where my bike broke down and showed a few symptoms of illness.

Planning a trip next month as I'm a little low on Vitamin M now.

      • Mods, excude me for the back to back posts, but its done with a purpose.

        Operation successful.
Kari breathes. She breathes beautifully. Lights beautifully.
I got my babe to smile after 15 days of struggle.
        Proud of myself!!! Yippie......

        Changes made.
        1. Upgraded the existing halogen with 55W Philips Xtreme Vision.
        2. Changed air filter.
        3. Replaced all of the 1.4L (killer) 20w50 oil with 10W40 FS Mobil1.
        4. Cleaned and re-lubed the chain.
        5. Opened the full fairing (too much plastic) and re-fit it.
        6. Applied double sided tape around the console and fairing's inners to minimize vibes.
        7. Bled both brakes and re-filled with DOT4 fluid.
        8. Cleaned battery terminals.
        9. Cleaned the spark plug.
        10. Washed the bike and polished it finally with waxpol.

The best thing - I did all of this myself in 4.5 hours.
Thanks to all ZMRians and finally xbhp!

Special thanks to Mohsin bhai, Satyajit da, Above_All, psr sir, Aneesh, Sriram sir and Ashwin for your help and previous posts guided me throughout.

4.5 hrs!!.. Nice.. But once you remove the full fairing then is it difficult to refit it back?? That's the main reason i did not try and open it even once.. And how much did the philips bulb cost you? And the brightness? Compared to stock?

The fairing is a very annoying piece of plastic.
See how it is dismantled and assembled at a mechanic's place first.

Then attempt it. Too many joints.

Lighting is expected to far better than stock as I have seen the setup on Sriram sir's ZMA and it looks awesome!
Since I fit it today in broad daylight, shall give updates only by night on the illumination front.

              Cheers.

              UPDATE-
The chain makes a typical sound on my kari.
While on the move, I feel that the chain slides on the swingarm(or whatever the connecting rod is called). It makes a sound of metal running on metal.
Chain slackness is fine. Shall I remove a link to see the result or do you guys suggest something else?

The sound seems to come from the front sprocket side.

                • Divya Sharan good to know you have done all yourself & it solved your problems .

When i first time removed tank i lost 4 litre petrol as the 12 number nuts which i fixed in the petrol pipe haven't able to block petrol flow completely & i noted it only after i finished the work & turned towards tank to lift it & refit it , but found it surrounded by petrol

For your chain noise problem i think may be you haven't fixed the chain cover properly & its making noise , check at back side of chain cover ( near tyre ) is the upper part locked neat in lower part at provided locking system .

Thank you sir. I was happy, but one BIG issue remains.

No bro, not yet. The sound comes from near the front sprocket.
I have clocked close to 18K. Is the sprocket worn out?

May be it is , as most of guys saying Hero made chain kit last around 20000 km only , Rolon and Diamond chain kit last more . So if you are changing get Rolon or Diamond one .

                      • Rode to mandarmani sea beach

Yet again... rode to mandarmani sea beach 200km from kolkata with GF. IT did not rain I was ready for it and i wanted it to.
Overall it was a great experience. Did all the riding in daylight.
The longest continuous ride without break was 180km. Here i would again praise Mobil1 10w40 coz even after a long ride it did not feel any different, felt no overheating either
I so much wanted to do this with PSD 120/80 but could not get the delivery. still waiting for Bunty bhai's call.

As pointed by a few that this thread lacks pics... here are some

Sorry if effects make the pics look over edited . Was too eager to try out the camera of new mobile (HTC One X)

Without the chain cover it wasn't a very good idea to ride on sand but hell! it was fun

Very unlikely for sprocket to be worn out so early . Open up the front sprocket cover and clean the dang thing . I cleaned my Splendor's front sprocket today(because of noise) and a whole boatload of gooey stuff came out . Kerosene, toothbrush and the whole of one old T-shirt cut to strips . Try it , and while in there check for anything come loose or misalignments . If nothing else works try this trick (learnt recently from Sibun) - get your mechanic to reverse(i.e turn over) the front sprocket and fit it like that .

                            VYDE is available in 100/90 X 18

Do not want Chain Cover Cutting or Removing.

SIDDHARTH, probably VYDE is soft compound Tyre AFAIK.
Although since an unknown territory will only be able to confirm after installation.

Yes DIVYA that is what I also know and could be opened.
May be it got stuck somewhere, I guess.

so satyajit bro are u gonna take the responsibility of experimenting with the new vyde..

I have tried PSD on Karizma without any mods, but i am assuming that with the rear disc brake on zmr, max to max what would be needed is a small cut on chain guard on the inner side, nothing more.

i had m45 and psd on karizma with no mods and then on zmr too had the chain guard cut a little

                              hope this helps

hello bro, i ve got some basic doubts regarding chain cut.. whether cutting the chain along the insides allows dirt entering the chain or is it not a big issue..? and who does al these chain cuts.. welding shop ah
