      1. Cleaning of Bike - not done as it was raining back in West Bengal..
      2. Cleaning of Chain and socket.
      3. Change of Air Filter - Cost 222/-
      4. Change of Starting relay - Bike was not starting in Neutral, giving tik tik sound. Done under warranty. (Solved)

      5. Change of Neutral switch near clutch - Bike was not starting when engaged in gear.. (Solved)
      6. Clutch is too tight, giving pain to fingures when in traffic - Need to change clutch wire (as told in ASC), was not available at that point of time. Any suggestion from seniors....
      7. Changed the Engine Oil to Shell AX7 10W40 SS - drove 450-500 KM, gear shifting is smooth though I am unable to taste the complete bite due to clutch wire tightened issue.

One small information - those who want to do the Warranty extension please do it immediately for 610 /- for 2 yrs, total 5 yrs. I missed it by 4 years, there is nothing that ASC can do once you cross 1 yr.. I tried it myself but as soon as you give the Engine and Chassis number the DOB is automatically taken..

      Regards.

We all are learners. I learn daily about my ride. The secret is plain simple, know your limitations and work towards reaching the threshold. And during this process, you'll get to know the limitations of your ride.

if i take it to the svc, they are saying that the cowl has to be replaced
but they are not ready to remove the fairing and analyse each part so what do you guys suggest me to do
does it help if i complain to the manager

the cover has a pic of a Karizma....

the last page is the customer copy...that i remember was half filled with a pencil and the showroom guy had kept a tracing paper so he also cud get a copy of it.....!!!

on the last covrr page in the inside ther are charges written for period of warranty!!! And you can extend the warranty only during the first year of your bike...!!

Is your bike under warranty??? If not then complaining to the manager wont work..!!!
Do one thing il tell you a few checks :
Foremost check your horn unit.....they really vibrate a lot back n forth and up n down if they get loose...!!
2.nd if ur getting a sound like tarrrrrrrrr....then prolly your black panel around your speedometre has become loose(do you keep a cloth or something stuffed in there)??
                  3. Last and the final reason cud be that...the screw of ur fairng must have become loose so check for it and another thing...the fairing left and right, have points that come out and then get affixed to the fuel tank...it has a black colour rubber bush...!! If the bush falls from the groove that time the fairing gets in contact with the metal ring of the fuel tank and vibrates n makes a sound..!!!

If this doesnt work....then tell the SVC manager....!! Tell him the engine, handle bar anything can be loose and if it breaks it can cause u ur life( it never happens but aise hi darane k liye bol de) so please ask SVC guys to check...!!!

I guess you are covered in warranty, right? I read somewhere that you've clocked 12k on the ODO.
Anyways, before you get the cowl changed, carry on the following checks:-
                    1. Is the horn jumping up and down? Needs the fairing removed as its quite a job reaching it with the plastic plonked on!
                    2. Is the windscreen tightened properly? All 6 screws there must have a rubber bush.
                    3. The side panels reaching the petrol tank must have U shaped washers along with the screws.
                    4. The meter console must snugly fit in the allotted area without any gaps.

TIP - Use bicycle tubes cut as washers to dampen the vibes on the visor/windscreen and double sided tape to dampen the vibes from the body panels.
                    Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

No, the warranty thing was just to ensure that you can sit on their heads and get the job done.
They generally don't care for out of warranty bikes. You can take it to a private mechanic.

                        • One question.. Is warranty so important? The way they handle bikes in ASC is horrible.. On my first service itself they laid a scratch on my silencer.... So left the ASC and did not care for the warranty and now i leave the bike at a private automated service centre and the people there have excellent knowledge. My side body panels were vibrating and he fixed it himself. They take the pain to find and solve problems as its a private one but that's not the case with the guys at ASC's... Also you get piece of mind..

After getting the bike, i went to shanidham temple and did the puja, and then i went to home so that my family can have a look of this bike and after that i rode to gurgaon and back to Delhi.

now today i have rode it around for 150 km, and to be honest it is just the another karizma, when u press the starter u hear the similar starter motor sound and engine coming to life instantly, the throttle response is quick.

when i put the bike in first gear and start riding it there isn't much difference in pick up, it remains same as in zma-r. the additional 0.6 bhp is nullified by the additional weight of 9 kg.

the seating position is same, the foot pegs are too similar, though the design of brake lever and footrest is a bit different.

the engine sound is slightly deeper....but its very similar to the zma-r....there is not a noticeable difference.
but yes its much crisper and takes even a slight throttle very quickly. i only take the bike at max. 80 km.hr since the engine is new.....but it reached 80 without an effort and i even didn't noticed even a slight vibration.....anyhow the zma-r too doesn't have any vibration till 115..after that the foot pegs do start vibrating a little.

the gear box is similar and but softer.....same style of one down and four up patten. suspension is improved since they are gas charged. instrumentation also impress me i really like the tachometer back lit. but if i compare the instrumentation of the zmr and zma-r, i will choose zma-r instrumentation as it looks more classy.

the front brake is same as in zma-r, but yes the rear brake is very good.....though not as powerful as in front but it really serves the purpose well and very good when compared to rear drums of zma-r.

coming to design i think hh could have designed it much better....the fairing looks too bulky and i wonder Wat will happen to it if bychance the bike fells or by chance some rickshaw may hit it. however the design of headlamp is innovative and a headturner. the zma-r looks more stunning when i parked both bikes together.

maneuvering this bike is little difficult when compared to r version as it is 10 kg extra and that large fairing that need to be taken cared off.

the real time mileage indicator is showing me 42 kmpl when i ride 60-70km range.....and 38 kmpl when i took it to 80.
Some ppl on orkut were claiming that they are getting 50-55.

This bike do not have a kick. The self starter is same and i hope there wont be any problems in future.

to sum up i would say the karizma zmr is overall a nice bike, but its high cost 98k puts Ur cheers down.

i got this bike for rs. 98700 all inclusive, from oswal honda delhi. if u wanna get it then u have to book it with booking amount of 40,000(may vary per dealer) and then it will be delievered as per availability, depending on color.
yellow have long waiting period whereas black and red are available in a week. i will get the registration number in a week.

and i recommend the zmr which is value for money and hassle free bike.

any how i am going to yamunagar and Chandigarh tomorrow to visit some of my relatives and friends for 3-4 days.

                                See u SOON xBHP.
