  • help me out
I m facing the problems with my zmr's rear disk pads my bike is 1 1/2 year old and
1st time my rear disk pad worn out was at 5000kms and i've changed it . the hh service guys told that its common usually the life is @7000kms and reason behind may be resting the foot on the brake i thought it was the first time and later on i kept this in mind while Riding and @12000kms again the rear disk pad was worned out and scratch sound is coming ,went to hh people they told that this time both pads and disk has gone(there are lines on rear disk)
can i know whats the problem with my bike and its rear disk
what's the average life of a rear disk pads generally ?
Is it the fault of my bike manufacturing defect or is it my way of riding ?
is there some other problem like one local mechanic told that the pad is worning on only one side and problem may lie in tyre ?
the ride only in the city and i use both the front and rear disk while applying the brakes its like 60 40 ratio

the disk rear disk pads for zmr is a useless option given by the herohonda and the spares are too costly, is there any alternative for zmr pads.
and can we remove the rear disk and put the drum breaks like karizma zma ? if so whats the pros and cons

please share your views on this
    thanks in advance

Please use the Search option for such queries. These have been discussed at length.
Anyways, disc pad wear time depends upon your riding style and the traffic conditions.
I changed my front pad at 15,500 kms and rear is still stock after almost 22000 kms.

Check if the disc is bent or not since you're saying it wears out on one side. Also get the brake pistons checked.
Bleed the brakes every time you change pads.

Thanks bro!! RVMs folded cause they are loose.. No matter how tight the nuts are, the mirror arms are loose. If i open them and ride then they tend to move front or back due to vibes.. Damn irritating it is!! Any solution?

Check for washers along the screws. Moreover, you can oil the screw threads and tighten the screw (Allen key size 6). Then the problem should be solved.

Thanks for info . I know a hole is needed to drilled for wiring of mirrors . I want to know about size of base ( the thing which get tight on fairing with allen screws ) CBR250R & ZMR have same size mirror base as some CBR owners using ZMR mirrors . Is it same for Fireblade ?

Put 1-2 drop oil on threads of those nuts & tight them if it won't work out then replace the nuts

As i heard Zapper Vyde is better than Zapper Q . Atleast check it before purchasing .

Shocks replaced? I assume the rear ones since you complain of back ache. They may have adjusted the shocks or removed the rear tire (possible reasons for that particular bolt to be tampered with), how can you be so sure that they replaced the shocks?

                      Ooty/Wayanad/Vellore, whatever; just name it.

i tried searching but couldnt find so posted here can u post the links of that thread .

i forgot to mention my riding style i used to ride daily in city where 40 % of traffic is there for 60kms of my route and i use mostly the rear disk like 60 % and 40 %(<40) front disk as someone told that using front disk more may leads to accidents and it is used only to slow down the bike don't know if its correct and i dont overspeed my bike
                        .
went to hh service center yesterday and they checked the rear caliper and the mechanic told that pads is worn out one side because of the disk plate scratches and need to change both of them and there is no other problem that causes repeated pads worn out.

it good to see your still on stock rear pads and changed front pads @15k kms , can i know your riding style and tips so that i can avoid this worn out prblme .

                        brake pistons checked.//

is brake pistons and caliper the same ?
Bleed the brakes every time you change pads//
what is meant by bleed the brakes ?
