thats short cut of doing.... i would suggest to first cleanw ith diesel and clean both sprockets as well...

then apply wd40 and rest for 2 to 3 mins, then oil it or grease it or

        • Hello guys,

Newbie here. I have been following this thread for some time. I'm about to place an order for the ZMR here in Chennai. But what I heard from the dealer is that the RED color is rare and they won't even take an order for it. That is a shame because I think Candy RED and Vibrant Orange are smoking hot. Is everybody here just driving the black or the white ones?

          My concerns are
          1. Touch up paint: It doesn't seem like Hero is selling little bottles of point for self use. Any pointers to get good ones that match our bike colors?
          2. Are they installing different brands of tires & batteries for the ZMR? For example, CBZ used to have MRF and also Dunlop. Hunk used to have both Exide and Amaron. Just checking so I make sure I select the right one.
          3. Is the loyalty program (if any) from Hero any good?

Any ZMR owners from Chennai in here?

Welcome to ZMR thread and Xbhp....

There is no Touch up paint from HM...

ZMR has exide MF battery...and tires are of MRF Zapper Y....you can change from outside tire shop to MRF Zapper Q 110 section...it has better grip then Zapper Q and from size wise too look good in ZMR

HM provides an loyalty program called goodlife...where on registration you can get a points on each service/transaction you do at SVC...1 point = 1 Rs...and afterwards points can be redeem for an items.....Also you can get 5% on spares parts...

You may want to check Hero Moto Showroom named Adyar Motors, Adyar. A colleague had booked an Orange ZMR from there 6-7 months back.

For good foucs the left one needs 3.5 turn clockwise from complete open & right one to 3~4 turns clockwise depending upon ones need ( 3 would be good ) .
You need to adjust only one nut, as one is for height & other for left-right movement ( sorry don't remember which one exactly for left-right movement )
Don't unscrew them completely to get 3.5 turns cause if it unscrewed completely then its really hard to fit again , so best way to just remove those plastics & adjust the nut untill you get right focus .
Hey brother...yes found those bolts...they are No.10 bolts that are to the lower side of the console.....just checked whether the bolts do the work....haven't adjusted the focus yet...will post a before and after review once done.....for all those who need to know where the bolt is ....here is a pic of the left side bolt.(it adjusts the up and down focus) a similar bolt is symmetrically fixed to the right which will enable you to set the left right focus...!!

                  • Seeking help guys... By the way, everyone seems too busy nowadays as the threads are moving slowly... Loved the few days of surge in between when we increased by 15 pages in 3-4 days.

                    Now my questions:-
                    1. Rear brake pads still stock @ 21,000 kms. They look like they've run for merely 2-3k kms.
But since it has been almost 2 years (22 months) since I bought the bike and the brake pad material may deteriorate, should I change the pads?
[P.S - braking is as effective as it was on day one, i.e - close to nothing w.r.t front ones]

                    2. How to measure the thickness of the disc plate (both)? How will a layman know that he needs to replace the discs? How many kms? [Please say at least 1 lac kms. ]

                    3. I have never topped up the rear brake oil either? Never checked the amount in the canister either. (the one which is located near the rear suspension)
Note - Rear brakes are used very less, as noted in point# 1. I use them only in the last 2-3 sec of stopping the bike.
No lines formed on rear disc. There are a few on the front. But I have always kept a check on the front brake oil level. Rear worries me though!
Should I worry for not having checked rear brake oil so far?

^ the brake pads will have marking to know it is time to replace. Look at the groove there will be wearout limit marking. Also, don't worry about the rear brake fluid, should be good unless you find it strange. Down the time you can even interchange brake pads of rear if I'm not wrong. It believe it will work.

Trust me, every single ZMR owner has faced this problem. Solution is simple and cheap; just oil the washer and bolt threads and re-tighten the RVMs.

                              • i once asked the following question, but was redirected to another thread which was something like The WORLD OF SPROCKETING (can't recall the exact name), but I didn't manage to figure out the answer for my question from there.

The question is: WHAT WILL THE EFFECT ON ENGINE , TOP SPEED AND ACCELERATION UPON FITTING P220 36TEETH REAR SPROCKET IN ZMR?

                                Will top speed increase?

how much will be acceleration drop?

I THINK that with 36TEETH sprocket bike can do higher speeds at comparatively lower rpms then it do now, but my concern here is:

WHILE SHIFTING TO A LOWER GEAR, WILL THE RPM FALL BE SO CRITICAL TO LEAVE THE ENGINE IN A KNOCKING STATE?

can anyone please, shed some light on questions above?
