  • BTW, the oiling thing didn't solve my problem completely either. Also, I didn't get the nut at the ASC as they didn't have a small nut in talk. Never went back to the ASC again. Got a similar nut from a hardware store and tightened the RVM.

But I have NEVER (yes; not even once) folded the RVMs in the 22 months of ownership. I need them. They're my eyes. They're touched only to be adjusted when kids/morons touch them and disturb the balance.
    Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

When on highways i do not fold them either.. But in very very dense traffic i fold them so that squeezing through would be simple.. But past one month i've avoided taking out my bike just cause of these stupid rvms.. I cannot ride on the highway without them.. And if i do, i just maintain the left side no matter what my speed

5th gear is overdrive. You can try redline in 3,4th gear. Not sure if there is any indian bike that can red line in top gear.

          • All those who are suffering from mirror getting loose, stop all this temporary solution and use the Resimet liquid on threads, this will stop the loosening of thread. You can get at any spare shop and a bottle will cost only Rs.15.
            RESIMET THREAD LOCKER
This is the only solution to problem.

Mirror's nut has lost the groove where the allen-key would fit.. Now there's no grip to hold the nut and rotate. BTW, the nut is fully tightened.. So if i somehow loosen the bolt, put in this fluid and tighten it'll work?

                • No need to use thread locker. Solution is very easy. Install this type of spring washer. and will never loose.

By closing you mean...closing the mirrors....yes it does have...but frequent turning the mirrors gets you that screw loosening issue bro..!! Lately i have also started to face that issue as there is this new car parked in buildings parking and i have to fold the mirrors to squeeze my bike in my parking place in between the building n the car..!!! and have started having issues with the left mirror now..:-(

                        • This mirror problem is faced by other faired bikes. As everybody aware, do not close the mirrors frequently. I had some issues with N250R during the road trip last year. While going at high speeds it tends to close out, the mirrors were closed as an habit by my friend, bad. What happens is that the alen bolt(in my case) that sits on the mirror assembly starts to wear out which in turn smoothens thus leaving some gap. If they are untouched, during the course of time, dust, even some amount of oxidation accumulated would make the hinge bit tight. However, it is a challenge to keep mirrors without folding in our daily routine.

My joy has numerous time banged the rev limiter in top gear(4th gear). CD100, splendor, passion, joy all can hit rev limiter and because that engine has a gear ratio which is well spaced. But in new generation bikes 1st,2nd and 3rd are hopelessly short and as a result the 4th and 5th are hopelessly tall. Even SAMURAI, MAX 100 i have seen hit rev limiter in 4th gear.

It will work even better if the nut has lost groove. Completely open the bolt and apply it on threads and then re-fit.

I can second that, I have a bad habit of hanging my helmet of the right rvm, there's an open stretch where I whack the throttle, it's the only place where I can really ride cause its at sea level, and after slowing down noticed that the right rvm had folded, and on inspection it seems that it's abit loose compared the the left rvm.

In Karizma, You can touch the limiter(almost) but You need to really rock the mill in 3rd and 4th gear. And you need a really long stretch.
