how to check for alloy bend, can the bend be removed or replacement is the only solution ?
Well.. I guess they can remove the bend for Rs. 350.. they call it wheel alignment.. they said the same for my ZMR.. I said OK initially.. but when I saw the guys hitting the alloy wheels with a heavy hammer.. I was like.. aah.. guys.. i don't want the wheel alignment.. I will get it done later.. but here in Delhi NCR they are charging 350 to remove the bend.. but I guess that is for both front and back... check it out.. maybe its cheaper outside..

The <2012 models had the same alloys as Kari. Costs 3500 approx. Best bet, PM phanikar and get the confirmation. He did the same a couple of months ago.

If its a minor bend, you can get it corrected at Pit Stop. Will set you back by 600 bucks AFAIK.
umm.. buddy.. do you mean to say that the <2012 Xtream has the digital console that the ZMR has?? I mean the speedometer console.. does the speedo cable have a sensor? (correct me if I am wrong as in Pulsars they have sensors which carry analog or digital signal to the speedometer) I mean.. if its gonna be the same analog cable.. then it will be fine.. else its not gonna work, right?? Also I guess the ZMR uses the Contact less cable if its gonna fit the other alloy wheels then i guess you can go for it.. if that is the case.. can I go for any 17" alloy which might fit the ZMR without having to do any mods?? cos 17" alloys have better options for tires

What I meant is that Karizma and the <2012 Xtreme use the same design/size alloys from the same manufacturer. But being different models, their part# are different and hence price varies.

A guy in Ashwin's group in KL has pulsar's alloys on his ZMA. But, that's reduce the GC as well as affect the dynamics of the bike.

Yes you are right.. the Karizma and the xtream used to share the same.. but the ZMR's alloy is different.. i mean.. not sure but thats what I think as this one has a digital console..

Snaps.. that sux.. I tot changing to 17" will make it better.. but like you said.. GC will reduce by an inch.. no other suggestions for this, right?

Pardon my noob mind, but how is the alloy related to digi/analog console?

Karizma and extreme alloys are compatible only for the rear, that includes post 2012 models as well. For the front only zma and zmr are suitable since the mounting points for the disc plate is different. Extreme has got a smaller disc plate .

Extreme has got dual disc models now....so only 2012 model's will suit for zma...alloy spoke designs also are different...need to check if rear fits on zmr....

I meant the rear drum variant in the post 2012 extreme models jai. Yeah the alloy design is different but still compatible. Havent tried the new extreme alloys on the zmr. How about we try it on yours first

i will visit pit stop today and you remember telling you there was a screeching sound in the front disc at a particular point and i suspected a disc bend but it was actually the front wheel which has a bend to the best of my knowledge. anyways will get it checked today

We took a TD for a black ZMR and apart from sticker and paint changes, I feel HMC has put in a slightly louder horn compared to HH. The rear brakes felt slightly more responsive compared to my friend's HH ZMR. Font on the console also seemed slightly different, not sure if I was hallucinating! hey bro, Be it HMC or HH the spares are always deficit especially for Red so jus consider the fact seriously before getting a Red ZMR !!

No they are different , just as Red , Black , White ZMR have Red "ZMR" sticker in different shades , these stickers also have different shades of Z & background according to body color . Check HMC webs for images .

ZMR uses Sensor Assembly in front wheel for speedometer , while Karizma uses Gear box assembly for speedometer & Analog to Digital converter like unit . If anyone going for Karizma Alloy on ZMR then needs other those things too , which will turn out costly & give incorrect readings in speedo .

Exactly.. if one wants to change the stock front alloy wheel of ZMR with any analog speedometer alloy they might have to change the console as well or else might have to do some mods which might lose the originality and the speed reading errors like you said..

The above statement by above all is what I have trying to say but I couldn't put it in words.. lol.. hope that answers your question buddy..
Same is the case with the <2012 Xtremes Also the Speedo cable on the ZMR and other digital speedo meters are more like a wire than a cable.. if you ever noticed in an analogue speedometer (atleast of those bikes made in India) there will be an inner and an outer just like that of the clutch cable and the acceleration cable.. but for digital speedometers AFAIK have the sensor wires.. which reads the speed from the sensor in the alloywheel.. Please correct me if I am wrong guys
