I agree with u. But I m more concern with the Rear disk support rod than the swing arm. As this rod is almost touching in 100 (stock Tyre), so not sure How 120 will fit. Finger crossed 110 gets fitted in the space and most importantly I get 110/90 - 18 Pirelli SD.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post

I guess no, somebody mentioned it earlier in the blog but I can't find it.....Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostYou hit the Bulls Eye.. exactly.. a 110/90 Section or the 110/80 section are direct fit to the ZMR and the 120 section requires mods.. Removing the chain guard would do the job.. but i suggest not removing the chain guard as it does its purpose very well..
Even after removing the chain guard I doubt the 120 section will fit comfartable or will not touch the rear disk supporting rod.. I m sure it will in double carry.
I guess the stickers are the same for all the ZMRs

Even if you make the mods, you still can't find a suitable tyre. We tried quite a lot to find a suitable 120 section on my friend's ZMR - the thing is, there are absolutely none! Dunlop has a 120/90 but in 19" rim size. 120/90-18" is impossible to find, atleast locally.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostYou hit the Bulls Eye.. exactly.. a 110/90 Section or the 110/80 section are direct fit to the ZMR and the 120 section requires mods.. Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Thanks for the information....Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post120 refers to the cross-section/horizontal thickness and 80 refers to the vertical thickness of the tyre. The stock is 100/90. Going for 120/80 would lower your rear height by 10mm+10mm = 20mm while the front being still 90/90, would be higher - this can affect handling significantly. And I seriously doubt if a 120 section can fit the ZMR without touching the swingarms. The clearance is very less.

Sanjeev from KOL did it. Page 669. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...a-zmr-669.html
It doesn't touch the brake hose/swing arm and stuff, but trust me, its very heavy and affects accelaration a lot. Don't trust me, ask Satyajit da. He's ridden ZMRs on stock tires, 110 PSDs as well 120 PSDs.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

@DS: are you sure there were no mods to fit the 120s? A 110 itself is a tight fit! And what about the ride height getting affected by the lower profile tyres? Were both tyres replaced simulteneously?Originally posted by Divya Sharan View Post120 mm fits without any issues. I'm talking about PSD and Vyde.

Thats correct Divya....(120)PSD n VYD fit in appropriately....But a 120 section as you said will create a lot of weight..PSD being one of the heaviest rubbers in the markets....will surely reduce acceleration with the 120 section and that being the reason i never suggest both front and rear PSD....it horribly increases the weight. For looks and a little drop in acceleration n mileage...but a good traction..the PSD 110 section will just be an appropriate rubber for the ZMR its not meant for the wet conditions...but still does a decent job in wet too...and in the dry climate...its just amazing...for Tarmac its a good rubber for that little more confident lean on the corners...!! If anyone wants to go for offroading....Sirac are the best tyres known to indian riders as yet....I have frens riding ZMR on sirac also without problems....Sirac has well built side walls so bindasss can be used as a tubeless type no need of tube in it..!!!Originally posted by Divya Sharan View Post120 mm fits without any issues. . I also personally want to change to PSD soon...but just waiting for the MRF zapper Q tubeless to come in the market....coz that would be my priority over PSD...!!
Finally on a personal note....avoid 120 sections.....would impact mileage acceleration...and surely handling..!!!!Regards-

No. 110 isn't a tight fit. If done correctly, it misses the chain cover by 4 mm to be precise, ie; you need not remove chain cover with a properly fit PSD 110/90 rear. I have this setup, so I can vouch for it. The ride height isn't decreased, rather it increased due to the round profile of 110/90 section. The increase is by 1.5 cm approx (rough calculations).Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post@DS: are you sure there were no mods to fit the 120s? A 110 itself is a tight fit! No, front tire for me/Sanjeev were stock at the time of replacement. I'm still on stock tires @ front.
See this pic. Its my bike with PSD 110/90 with the chain cover intact.

Neither... Zapper Q shown in ur pic is TT tire, paddy is waiting for a Zapper Q TL type, which I'm not sure is launched yet (or not).Originally posted by pixantz View PostYou talking about any of these?
PSD 110/80 would be too low for the bike and will cause unforeseen issues with handling and underbelly scraping. PSD 110/90 is the correct profile.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
