Just joking about manual run-in. ;-)

    • Sanding the tire was done in the earlier days to run in the tires sooner and prep them for track day's.

Now we dont need to bother about all that, the poly..blah..blah coating on the new tires wears off after a few mins of running with respect to contact patch, and thats it, running in over!!! After that just wait for the tires to reach operating temp before doing something crazy. The running in at 100kms/1000kms etc etc are all, old biker tales.

I had a horrible experience with the Michelin Sirac Street Rear Tyres during heavy rain downpour.. the tyre skids every time i applied rear brake.. so I had to do the MotoGP style keeping my legs to balance every time I applied brake.. anyways.. not sure if this tyre is safe enough though i have just completed some 500kms at max with them..

I am using that same tyre since more than 15000kms but never felt any such problem with it..I took my bike on few tough terrains as well after installing it & it performed really good there as well

Same pinch, I use Sirac Street rear tire at front, if brake when its raining, then the bike does 360's.

                  • Hi,

Did my 2nd paid service at 17K and changed the front rear disk pad and was forced to do the same with the rear due to the idiot tyre mender... The rear wheel got locked somehow and the disk pads got bent and cracked after the tyre mender ut back the wheel after repairing the tyre wall....

Did valve adjustment and also removed all odd sounds from the visor... Cost me almost 3K if not more... Here are few pics...

Most important and underlined thing is that I am determined to change the tyre but can't get hold of PSD, any other option bros... Please really need help, just because of the stupid tyre and tyre mender had to change the disk pad which was just half used.

                      • Horrible evening! My bike stopped roughly 5 km from my home. I stopped for attending a call and when I came back 2 min later, the bike had died. It wont start.

                        1. Checked battery strength. No dimming of display while thumbing the starter/no resetting of ODO/full blazing horns and HL.
                        2. Opened the tank lid to let air in.

                        [push start failed]

Both checks passed. Then tried calling Prajwal and Satyajit da, but couldn't talk. Finally took psr sir's # from Sriram sir.
Thanks psr sir, my bike started after 3 kms of painful pushing the bike while walking.

My mech's shop had closed for the day.

Now I have a few doubts:

                        1. Spark plug if fouled, wouldn't have let the bike start later. This means the plug/connector is fine. Or do I have to check it too?
                        2. I pressed my fingers against the pump while attempting to start every time, but I couldn't feel any motor whirling inside. This happened even when the bike started. Should I be worried?
                        3. If indeed there is a problem in the fuel pump, then I'd like to check the bushes for wear and tear. I don't think my mech can help in this, I'll have to visit the SVC. What should I ask them for?

Current ODO reading - 26,200 kms.

                        • 1. If your fuel-pump was dead, your bike would be probably dead too! No amount of push/walk/run-starting would make your bike start again - this is from my experience with what happened to Satyajit da's ZMR. (His fuel pump was gone - he had it replaced under extended warranty!)

                          2. Might be a fuel-pump problem where the pump develops a mind of its own and becomes devilish! :P

                          3. Might be some electrical problem? Check your fuses.

                          4. While thumbing the starter, is the bike cranking?

                              What ??
Does that mean the engine does not even turn over when the self start is used ? How is engine not cranking related to fuel pump problem ?

Did you get confused between "cranking" and "starting/running" ?
