hey guys, hav been riding my zmr with SNORKEL removed for almost 2 months now :P ' thnx to [MENTION=32286]psr[/MENTION] sir

now having keenly noted for days together off late i find tat the sound has gradually come down to quite an extent, since am very confident tat its not the same Roaring sound tat i heard it on the first day after i removed the snorkel (it was a lik a typical K&N roar) !! so wat could be the logical reason behind this mystery guys ?!? i predict tat this s due to the accumulation of dirt tat hav settled in my stock Air Filter !

My after market filter had reduced sound cause of accumulation of dust. On cleaning it, the sound was same as it was when the filter was new.
Just clean your filter.

One problem with the stock air filters is that we cannot clean it.. it is more like use and throw.. depending on how much dust is accumulated.. by the way.. [MENTION=43592]shivakrish[/MENTION] any idea on how clean the filter was before you removed the snorkel?? and how many kilometers have completed after removing the snorkel??

Best place for camping in kerala would be wayanad. But dont even try to go there during the monsoon season.

arrghhh......my ZMR is back to square one with—added piston slapping (now sounds like actual knocking), extremely rigid, heavy vibration at the handlebars even on idling. No idea what was done to the engine! Company contact-person is not picking up the phone. Called him twice, so now texted him to replace the unit that has a possible manufacturing defect. I am really frustrated.

I was told by the mechanic that the tappets were adjusted for tightness, fuel injector cleaned, and timing set to standard from advanced. Looks like my ZMR has been screwed further up.

Talk to the HM engineers if SVC not able to get it resolved....

Not much help actually, the contact-person from Hero assured me that if the ASC is unable to resolve the issue then he will get the compnay engineers to do the job. Well, now this very person is not picking up the phone. Looks like another email with cc to consumer forum awaits them.

How to get a beefy/bassy sound on the ZMR without using any conical filters? What is desnorkeling? Has our ZMR got some air resonator module like the ninja'?

ya bro the filter was very clean when i removed the snorkel, dint hav a look at it now,, and it has been roughly around 800kms since i removed it.

Planning to Hit the Tour to South in the Month of December.. up here in North it will be freezing cold.. temperatures anywhere less than 5 degrees.. keeping in mind that there will be possible rain in south.. planning for a camp in Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary...

Day 1 - New Delhi to anywhere near Indore.. (900kms)
Day 2 -
Day 3 - Indore to Goa (1000Kms)
Day 4 - in Goa
Day 5 - Goa to Mysore (600kms)
Day 6 - In Mysore
Day 7 - Mysore to don't know the exact location yet.. still in the planning.. but somewhere in and around where Divya and Abhi have suggested..
Day 8 - Somewhere in Kerala
Day 9 - trekking/sight seeing
Day 10 - Kerala to Pondicherry
Day 10 - Pondicherry to Chennai after visiting few places in Pondicherry
Day 11 - In and around Chennai
Day 12 - In and around Chennai
Day 13 - Chennai to Hyderabad
Day 14 - Hyderabad sight seeing.. hopefully Ramoji Film City
Day 15 - Hyd to Dhamo (800kms)
Day 16 - Dhamo to New Delhi (700kms)

so planning a total of 16 days trip.. almost 6000kms in total..

this is just the layout.. the places will be decided properly after the work load at office reduces.. hopefully after next month..

Any suggestions are always welcome..

Got fully occupied by National level seminar conducted by my college so couldn't come online..

My bike fell on its own while parked in the college.. Due to a heavy rain which spanned like 2 hours the soil erosion occurred and bike fell down on its own due to mud formation.. scratches in Left RVM and near the left indicator and a tiny scratch over Z

It happens mate.. nothing serious happened so he happy about it.. the fairing is strong enough to take a couple of hard hits.. same happened to my black pearl during nepal tour.. the indicator broke and clutch lever bent.. had to ride with the bent lever for almost 700kms.. uncomfy.. but it was better than a broken clutch lever..
