hummm....even in my opinion it would just be a facelift..and not much performance upgrade...and this could get hero in some trouble. because of a lot of new bikes coming up and also the bike spending mentality of indians has changed...now anything in the range of 1-2.5/3 lakhs is becoming affordable and people are opting for it. Plus with a lot of technically upgraded bikes around the corner like the dukie200/390, CBR250, etc....it would pose a serious issue for Hero......Hero needs some serious upgrade i feel..!!!

BTW (MUMBAI ZMRites, or if anyone can make it to mumbai :-)) im thinking of a very short ride to Matheran tomorrow....(to the waterfalls enroute dastoori naka, not entering matheran) anyone interested to join in can...!!!:-)
leave by 6am from Mumbai....and return by 4pm back to Mumbai!!! with some peaceful time spent viewing the waterfalls and lush green scenery..!!

ahh..... not in Mumbai anymore, but I do envy your short ride.

Well, as for Hero's upcoming line-up, it does look like a sawed-off marketing strategy to stick to the safer side. However, there are people who won't mind the design too much and decide to go with the engine......a go-between rather (I mean the choice).

As for me, I'm still unable to figure why the service engineers are not able to fix or rather figure out the problem with my ZMR. Aprt from piston-slapping and other mindless issues, the ignition suddenly goes kaput during any upturn. Twice I had near-fatal accidents. The most dangerous thing is that the problem is unpredictable....happens any time. After emails and phone calls to the HMC regional office, an excutive inspected my ZMR and declared he found nothing wrong. Was wondering if they actually are waiting for a misfortune to happen!!

Nevertheless, time to open up the workshop manual...if can find it!!

If HM engineers are not able to solve it...push them for the team to inspect from HM plant directly (delhi-Gurgoun) (they generally comes if regional city engineers not able to solve).....or claim them for a new engine....

Someone from the company did come to inspect my ZMR at the showroom (Vinline Engineering, Kolkata), but definitely it's a hand-in-glove affair. I was told on Wednesday that it would take them 1.5 days to do a complete dismantle and check, but when I went last evening, the bike wasn't even touched...leave alone opened. This morning, the service manager called me up to say that the entire bike has been opened and they found no faults as such. Just think....what they told would take 1.5 days, they were able to do a complete dismantle and reassembly in 3 hours!! Isn't that a new guinness world record!!

The way the bike stops suddenly is terribly scary...imagine at places such as in front of a truck, close to a ditch, on the sides of a canal. The company authorites were not even bothered when I asked them if it would take a fatal accident to assert that there indeed is problem somewhere in the bike. After all this, would I recommend Hero to anyone? Your guess!!

I told the workshop manager and the mechanic to check all the electricals, sensors, and whatever is there. They just have one answer,"SIr, no fault in the bike". I have told the showroom owner that I won't be back the next time, but at the consumer court for sure.

As I was about to key in this paragraph, I called up the executive who came that day and informed him what happened so far...he seems to be singing the same tune though. I better pray for my limbs and my and my pillion's life, and also for those hapless souls on whom the bike might just decide to fall God forbid though!!

Bro you'll have to go one step further. Do not leave the place until they open the bike in front of you. It may get physical but what other way is there? Shout at them and make a scene so that they wake up. No other way bro. I cant see any other way.

The point is, have you really "simulated" the issue in front of either the service manager or HM engineer ???? If yes then no one can dare to say there is no issue with the bike.. If not then do simulate. only saying that there is an issue wont make anyone believe till the time anyone really encounters the same..

I could hear some stupid "khat khat" noise coming out of my bike when SVC people refitted my engine.. I could hear that but no one else could.. SVC mgr said there is no problem.. i just asked him to take the pillion seat & I simulated the issue infront of him.. he had no option but to agree & they found n resolved the issue too !

Therefore please simulate to get it resolved !!!

Yamaha R15 V2.0 (The best I had; Ah it let me become the college hunk I once used to be :) )
Hero Honda Karizma ZMR (The bike for the family man in me; The practical one; The current one)

Despite a nearly 30 years old motor, why should a tourer opt a Karizma?

                            Hey Guys,

I am making a trip to Ladakh for 3 weeks starting this August 9th.
Looking for your wisdom on tips on how to prepare my bike for it, especially for following :
                            1. Engine oil ? (Something that is suitable for varying weather conditions of ladakh)
                            2. Tyres (specially rear tyre for road grip, as I am hitting ladakh in monsoon)
                            3. Headlamp (Stock one is too meak, especially for nights).

Anything else, that I may have overlooked ?

I am riding my 2011 karizma ZMR, driven 8K only as i was abroad since sometime...
