  • finally got my white ZMR!!!!

hi friends add me to the list
white ZMR from hyderabad.. took the delivery two days back and the odo reads just 30 kms didn't get to ride much because of college.
    what i liked
    - awesome handling
    - superb suspension love the iGRS

there are few issues like the bike vibrates a lot between 2.5 to 3k rpm and the faring makes wierd noise but the vibrations reduce when rpm's go above 3k but come back when it is about to reach 4k rpm.. what could be the problem..? I feel the engine is smooth when copmared to my splendor but will it get more smoother after first service?
    pics in very short time..
    regards
    sai

Congrats for your ZMR & welcome on ZMR ownership thread .

For your fairing vibration check for rubbers packing near the petrol tank , mostly the vibrations are because of those damper rubber missing or loose fitting.

From where you got a weired noise ? Lower fairing ? upper fairing ?
I too got some weired noise before 2 weeks when i release accelerator but let the clutch open at speed around 30 kmph in 2nd gear . so i refitted fairing tightly , checked the front number plate nuts , but the noise is still there ,
on second try of refitting fairing accidently i forgotton to fit 1 screw of lower front side of fairing & there is no noise . so i found the problem for the noise in my bike .

      • thanks for the quick reply bro, the noise is from the top left part of the faring and it is because of the engine vibrations between 2.5k to 3k rpm so where do i start checking?

As you just got the bike bro , i suggest you to visit Authorised Service Center & tell the issue to service manager & let them fix it .

If you wanna check yourself , get bike on main stand , bring to neutral , start the engine keep accelerating untill those 2.5 , 3.5 , 4 k range where you hear noise & try to hold the area of fairing from where you suspect the noise is coming from . And for those rubber packing check both side of bike just above lower & upper fairing joint they are on back of upper fairing & petrol tank bottom area.

My bike was dragged for around 100 meters(approx), I was injured a bit. Till I got up (Which took lot of effort and time [Say around 40 Seconds]) and to walk 100 meters (approx) with injured leg 1 min 30 sec.

If after nearly 90 + seconds, the sensor does not switch off the engine, either the connection is faulty or the sensor is Kaput.
Sensor is Kaput I guess :P.

                  • Planning to get my ZMR Joel'ed.

                    Hi all,

My baby celebrates her maiden b'day in Jan 1st week.
I plan to get a big bore kit + ffe work done.
Normally the big bore for ZMA-R increases displacement to 235cc, but I requested Joel to make it close to 250cc for my baby.
He has not denied the possibilities. (didn't approve it either.... )

                    I'm super excited.
I get a feeling that she may be the 1st mutant ZMR in xbhp.
                    What say guys????

                    • Hi friends, today I upgraded from my 3 years old unicorn to a ZMR.

I have been reading this thread for the past few days. And frankly was a puzzled by some review where guys said gears are very hard and lots of vibration from day one and all.

To my surprise I found this bike to be very smooth in terms of vibration or body noise, yeah after riding a unicorn the gears feels a lil hard but very much bearable . The suspension on this bike is awesome, of all the bikes I have owned this was the most comfortable over our Indian roads.

The bike tends to get a lil hot after riding for some 20+ Kms, but I suppose because it's new.

Only saw one glitch on my bike ie the indicators don't blink, they just remain on . Will take it up in my first service or maybe before that .

Thank you all for this wonderfull thread . Really helped me in making up my mind about my upgrade.
