  • Guys in my zmr brake efficiency reduced so i gave the bike to local mechanic
    1) 1st he opened the disk pad and cleaned
    2) then he put the dot 3 brake oil on disk... i was shocked and asked him what are u doing but he said they ll do like this only..(mechanic is friend so cant ask him directly so left with haste).

Result: now it breaks but lost the bite... very smoothly braking like cuting cake with knife. brake is lost...

give some sugestions to revive the brake..

First of all never give bike to local garage mechanics , always try to get the work done by mechanic who got training & experience .
If your disc pad are worn out then get a new one & clean that dot3 oiled disc first .

Wipe the rotor(Disc Plate )clean, on both sides, with petrol. Change the disc Pads..
There is no other alternative to give you safe braking consistently.

i thought the mechanic know everything.. Because on service center they make people wait for a whole day... disc pad is good... only 6k kms runned...

Once oil of any grade or type touches the pad , the brake pad absorbs it..so you have pads with oil in it..This is not good for braking since every time you brake the oil will get coated on the Disc and start slipping.
I recommended using petrol to clean the oil on the Disc plate..
The Best cleaning will be done by Ethanol soaked soft rag and wiping the disc repeatedly at least 3 to 4 times.

            • Amazing ride to lonavla!!

              HI Frens,
Back afta a long tym....just came to share my experience with u guys on my ride to lanavla with SNOWY...my white ZMR! this weekend!!

I Rode along with a Lime green ninja 650...( one of my fren owns it).....it was an amazing experience....
rode completely stock....tyres...oil....everything is still stock on my bike except the headlamp bulb...i have philips 60/55w onto it.

A few things i noticed bout the bike during the ride:
              1. While riding on a straight smooth patch.....bike starts dragging itself after it reaches 80kmph....as in engine reaches high rpm's and starts sounding raw....( Had a pillion rider...arnd 60kgs). Bike hardly reached 100kmph during the ride...!!

              2. The Khandala ghat was a superb riding experience.....bike did pretty well on the curves...uphill as well as downhill....yes really needed power to do the climbing as compared to the ninja...!!! the ninja went as if it was riding downhill...lolzzz!!

              3. The Ground clearance is just awesome.....had a little off road ride also...but nowhere did the fairing or the main stand brush the ground ...

              4. Breaking was just awesome on the curves....never did i feel even a little tensed when i entered the curves with a little breaking to get in control....!!!

              5. Suspension really took a lot of pain...and served me well!!!

              6. After a ride of about 3hrs....my ass was on fire.....hell lot of pain man..!!

              7. One thing Im really disappointed is with the illumination!!!....its really very poor when i ride in the dark....as i mentioned i presently have a 60/55w philips fitted on my head...but doesnt do the work properly....!!!

              Statistics:
              Rode 315 kmh
              Fuel Efficiency: 48kmpl
Top Speed reached: 90kmph on straight.
              Comfortable turning speed.....65-70kmph.
              Total kms Done 5500kms.
              Servicing done- 6 free servicing.

                              • Hi

                                Hello my dear Xbhpians,

Official work kept me busy for few months
I have few queries on my ZMR which is driven around 11,000 kms

                                1. What is the average life of chain & sprocket (Original one that comes along with the bike) - I reside in an area where I have to ride in muddy conditions often.

                                2. My ZMR started to show some rusty signs yesterday.. I wasn't able to switch to 1st gear from neutral properly & it is switching only when I apply some force

Kindly provide your valuable feedback on the same.
