@Supreeeth Guys, I've observed that the tires just need a bit of getting used to. As they are MRF, they're already more suited to our road conditions than any other tire. I've taken turns @ 90 on highways & its not that bad. I often take fast turns wid legs wide out & grip is strictly Okayish. that too when tires get warm.
Only bummer is when I see tires on the common FZ, R15 V2.0 having double the contact patch compared to our tires. I feel so-so jealous. But, on the other hand we hv our own chain guard.
& yea, happy b'day to Atal ji. Jai hind Jai bharat.( & Hope the prices come down finally.

56... OMG what speeds you are driving. Yesterday we had a trip to pondycherry my wife started to complain on backache. I need to stop four times to make her relax. Also 80 kmph feels like engine is stressed out. My first priority is pillion comfort and second is stress free riding and zmr is famous for. Btw I got only 45kmpl in 70-75kmph

Most of the trip was done in 75-85 kmph range. Minimal gearshits involved.

I achieved this avg on hill riding and flat roads mixed.. speeds ranging between 65-85.. some part of the journey i touched 115kmph and some times cruising at 90-95kmph.. and yup, minimal gearshifts, clutch usage and constant rides.. divya, did you fill up the tank and check how much fuel was consumed to completed 502kms??

My bike is Pulsar 180UG3 purchased in 2006 dec. Thats pretty long time i keep my bike. It gave me lots of headaches rebored engine at 25K kms, changed the clutch plate twice, replaced gearbox, starter ring gear, valves, shocks, timing chain etc etc. Current odo is 67K kms but replaced odo console under warranty at 5K kms. Plus sensor cable got cut I was riding like that for 6 months or so. Might be 75K-78K in total. Two days before bore again gave up but CNC lathe guy did better than factory rebore it lasted 40K kms on Mahle piston. When new the bike gave 50kmpl If I drive 100kmph nonstop it gave 34kmpl and average is 45~48kmpl and 110 above it gave 25kmpl. One thing I observed is when i was in Bangalore I visit chennai often. Atleast twice a month in bike. That easily spoiled the bore.
When I was checking for current bikes I shortlisted KTM.. wife says you are a man not teenager ..lol where is pillion seat..Ruled out R15, keen on bullet but I have diesel bullet which I want to restore. More importantly bike should be reliable. After I knew abt pulsar series for 7 years I decided to stay out even though 200NS looks lucrative. I was looking for ZMA before 180 purchase but everyone was telling me average is 28~33kmpl so dropped that time. PGMFi does delivers better mileage and power in much relaxed and stress free engine I am looking for decent low clocked ZMR in chennai.
Generic question: What is the life of ZMR engine block. BTW my friend purchased Yahama Gladiator RS in 2008 and the bike has crossed 1.2lac kms and only recently he replaced clutch. No rust anywhere and everything is fantastic. Regular consumables is engine oil, tires, chain sprocket. replaced brake pad at 90K kms.

Just reached office after completing this experiment. Had to cover 8 kms in city traffic to reach the petrol pump.
                    Total distance = 502+8 kms = 510 kms
Petrol filled today(full tank) = 8.91 L = petrol consumed in the entire trip yesterday.

Avg fuel consumption = 510/8.91 = 57.24 kmpl (approx) YIPPIE!!!

Reasons behind such a high mileage: (my pointers)
                    1. New tires (both)
                    2. Recommended tire pressures throughout.
                    3. New spark plug (G Power)
                    4. Chain lubed (grease + lube treatment)
                    5. Fresh engine oil used - smooth shifts
                    6. Average to good roads.
                    7. Most of the riding was done either early morning or late evening (this trip), hence the engine ran cooler.

But heck, this is the new record. Yippie!!! 57.24 kmpl.

Proper riding can see you clocking 1L kms on this too. Though brake pads won't last 90k for sure.

Fantastic we have a new record set i guess my bike isn't going to give me such an avg anymore unless i reset the ECU and ride it within the proper limits before my next tour to get such a beautiful FE

How can I forget rusted silencer. Looks everyone has same set of issues with pulsar. Another peculiar issue is when I ride above 90kmph whole clutch bell assembly will move towards casing side and press against the clutch release lever. All of the sudden you hear a wild roar and rpm shoots to 10k. Reduce the speed a little clutch engages. This started at 8k kms and no one could rectify. Due to this I never touch 100. This time I wont fall for fancy gizmo and zmr seems to be better choice. I too like new junk but again its 150cc and its similar to honda dazzler. Honda is also very very high on maintenance and very costly spares

Honda is also very very high on maintenance and very costly spares

i have touched 130kmph on the speedo of my P180.. The bike after i slowed down sounds as if the pistons and valves are about to fall off the engine had a bad experience and since then never decided to go for a bajaj product ever again.

Lovely! Now you need 3 more cylinders, 3 more exhaust valves, 20 mm fatter tires at the front and 80 mm extra at the rear.
