    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

bhai if your clutch is worn out the engine would feel sluggish. Opening the throttle would cause RPMs to increase with relatively less increase in speed.
This also might happen temporarily when clutch gets really hot (happened with me) and if continued with the same driving style leads to 'clutch-burn' (tourers climbing mountain passes, esp rohtang would know).
You can ride a Motorcycle any day of the month. ;)

What are the advantages of getting a new clutch plate assembly?
Thought of answering but Divya did it in the easiest possible way , anyways, if your clutch is worn out, installing a new one makes your bike back to life and perform better, . . When it's worn out, you'll feel the rpm rising but the power won't be there. . .

If leg pulling sessions are intended, i guess it would be better to have it off the ownership threads. Though you might not have done it with wrong intentions, few people misuse of the opportunity to divert the discussions or the discussions can take ugly turns. This has happened in the past, so highlighting. Any newbie who is genuinely looking for some information, is likely to be mislead. Well, I still remember the first long ride i did to Ooty from Chennai..

On my ZMA (2003 model) in the year 2009 before i moved to Delhi..

when me and my friend left Chennai.. the bike never crossed 90 kmph and it gave a very poor avg of 25 kmpl making me spend nearly 3500 rs one way till Pollachi.. note that the fuel cost was somewhere around 45 - 50/- I don't remember..

when I took it to a mechanic, they claimed everything was fine with the bike. but still wasn't sure what the problem was... I couldn't cross 90 kmph and the mileage was eating my wallet..

I spent all the money I had on fuel (one way) so I had to go to my relatives house in Pollachi.. got some money from my aunt.. filled up the tank and 1ltr bottle with fuel and took off..

On our way back.. the bike free again.. was riding at constant 120 to 125 kmph.. the bike returned an avg of almost 43 kmpl and we reached Chennai with that one tank full.. completing nearly 650 kms in less than 10 hrs...

I still don't know what the problem was.. Now thinking about that makes me wonder if it was an issue with the clutch plates..

^^ There can be quite a few reasons for this. Im no expert at all but one that I can think of is bad fuel (that you filled from Chennai while starting the ride).

I filled it up a number of times.. so I don't think it was the fuel issue.. at one point of time, we ran out of fuel and there was no fuel station anywhere near.. luckily we had 1ltr bottle with fuel in it which we completely forgot about.. so we used that fuel to run another 10 kms to the next fuel station..

I am still not sure what the issue was.. I was happy as my aunt gave me 2500/- and I spent only ~1000/- on fuel and balance I kept for myself and she never asked..

By the way.. Got my Black Pearl fixed and changed the following parts

                    1. Right upper cowl
                    2. Left Upper cowl,
                    3. front cowl (red color cos i wanted it to be in Red)
                    4. Visor (windshield)
                    5. headlight assembly (the other one broke completely at the rear side of the assembly - where the front cowl and number plate gets fitted to.
                    6. silencer cover
                    7. Gear Lever
                    8. left foot rest
                    9. left indicator
                    10. weight bolt was broken and stuck in the handle bar, so that rod was replaced.
                    11. few missing screws and bolts.

                    total cost Rs. 8237.40/-

Didn't get the Front Fender in Black so left it as such for now. i will change it next month after my salary is credited or I might leave it as such for now and get it fixed next year before the monsoon..

Damn.. I am out of money now

Got all the parts in a single Service Center in Dilshad Garden, R.K Automobiles. they have lots of stock. Had I known this, I would have come here to get the silencer cover and I wouldn't have met with that stupid accident :'(

I haven't clicked any pics of my bike after fixing it except one while fixing it and now my max speed goes till 50 kmph in city.. not that I am scared.. I just don't want my black pearl to get hurt again..

Got my mom to do some prayers and ran over the lemons (rituals you see)

the bike is as good as new now without any vibrations.. feels good but all this came after spending 8237.40

What you had experienced is the Honda sticky Valve....it is a known problem in early Honda Motorcycles...what happens is , because of close tolerances in the Valve, seal, seat and guide, any sticky coating will cause the valves to become lazy in opening and closing...even bad Petrol will have the same effect...after a spirited run the valves will become free and everything will become normal....one way to check is ,when the problem arises,..to try and kick start the engine...you will feel the kicker going down freely as if in decompression mode....I and many other members have gone through this problem before.....it happens mainly on humid conditions, late evening or mornings , esp., after a ride and stop for a break.....where the effect is more than normal, the engine cannot be started, and after resting for 5~10 minutes, bike will start and no further problem will happen...till the next time....anyway nothing to worry since with usage after a few hundred Kms the problem totally disappears...

Today fortunately I went to the same area from where I last bought the Michellin Front tyre.. by mistake he gave me the rear tyre. I went to the shop and complained about the mistake.. they immediately changed the tyre for free

Before (Rear tyre fitted as front)

Many people thinks 120 profile tyre needs chain cover cutting.. but its a direct fit.

Before fitting it does looks really wide..

Very well explained. I was going to post but i think i could have never explained the way you did.

You are spot on right. As usual you are best.
