Well said bro.Placing Rubber or tape between the plastics will reduce the vibration to large extent .In my bike, the plastic part near the number plate was vibrating a lot when i rev above 5k rpm.I complained about it during last service and the svc guys put the tube rubber and tape in between the plastics and the vibrations are gone.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostHere's what I did.
1. Avoid that yellow color double sided tape available at most stationary shops. Reason - they peel off within 100 kms.
2. Use spare tubes. Fold a few layers and you've excellent damping material. Would cost anywhere within 100 bucks max.
3. Buy a good adhesive (fevi quik or fevi bond. Avoid fevicol)
4. Put the tube dampers mandatorily :
a. All around the meter console.
b. Above the front fender, near the number plate assembly.
c. Upper portion of the fairing above the brake/gear shift levers.
d. Under the visor nuts.
5. Let it dry overnight.

Oh really? Damn! I failed to notice vibes from rear cowls for the last 20k kms.Originally posted by pixantz View PostKarizma has the most vibrating body among Indian bikes. And you have to pay good money to buy that vibration ridden body! I just spent 3400/- just for the rear two cowls and center piece! We should join the Bharat Bandh for our woes too!

Karizma's cowls do not VIBRATE. If the joints of the cowls brake, only then they 'RATTLE' in bad roads. Even with broken cowls, you won't get any vibrations if you ride in smooth roads.Originally posted by pixantz View PostKarizma has the most vibrating body among Indian bikes. I can't comment about ZMR, as I have very less exposure to ZMR. ZMR having huge cowls mounted near engine area, there are chances for vibrations if the cowls are not properly fitted.
Once I met with an accident, and the right side cowls broke completely, the joints came off. I was able to ride without any vibrations back to home. They rattled in potholed roads.

Not true. ZMX gurus have already spoken above, so I think I don't have to explain. In ZMR's defense though, the plastics are as good/bad as they're on a ZMA!Originally posted by pixantz View PostKarizma has the most vibrating body among Indian bikes. All semi/fully/bikini faired bikes (desi/foren bikes) have vibes if continually ridden on bad tarmac, period!
Stock oils are good till 1500-1800 kms. You may try Honda 10w30 FS though. But trust me, 10w30 oils suck! In B2B traffic they're no good.Originally posted by sanjay8214 View Postthanks my friend. it is better i stick with stock.......i tried SS shell AX7 but was unhappy with it and changed to stock, when on ax7 at lowerspeeds it was smooth but at higher speeds it was like holding up, and not gave a very good feel.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Hi guys. I switched to shell ax7 ss oil about 1100km back. Since then fuel efficiency has dropped drastically to about 35kmpl. Earlier on stock oil I used to get around 45kmpl. There is no change riding habit. Is this a cause for concern or will it improve over next change.

Oil reduces mileage by that much? I don't think so.. Or does it?Originally posted by blizarder View PostHi guys. I switched to shell ax7 ss oil about 1100km back. Dude,I don't think so.In my 14 month of ZMR ownership, the rattle or vibration I found was mainly on the visor and the small plastic near number plate. The rattling issue is common for all the bikes with faring if not maintained properly.Originally posted by pixantz View PostKarizma has the most vibrating body among Indian bikes. You are right.. but once i dropped my Black Pearl and since then.. I am unable to arrest the noise and vibrations.. I am not able to identify from where the vibes are coming..Originally posted by xwarrior View PostDude,I don't think so.In my 14 month of ZMR ownership, the rattle or vibration I found was mainly on the visor and the small plastic near number plate. The rattling issue is common for all the bikes with faring if not maintained properly.

I understand everybodys love for z'ma. Even I love the bike. Been riding it since last seven years. But compared to fibre body parts of other makes karizma is more brittle. Try riding a 2006 second hand one which has taken one fall long ago, on Mumbai roads, and we'll get the picture. And we can also try a different bike with the same status to understand better. Respect to all the Z'ma "gurus". No offence meant :-)Originally posted by xwarrior View PostDude,I don't think so.In my 14 month of ZMR ownership, the rattle or vibration I found was mainly on the visor and the small plastic near number plate. The rattling issue is common for all the bikes with faring if not maintained properly.
P. S. cant comment on the ZMR. Not used it so....Last edited by pixantz; 02-20-2013, 10:19 PM.

Fuel is from habsiguda shell bunk and I follow the full tank method. Currently the fuel is at the 3rd point and done 418kms since full tank. Will be verifying again at the next full tank.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View Post10 kmpl difference?? :O :O There might be something wrong with the fuel or the calculation method. I have told this repeatedly, the plastics on ZMA are very good in quality, but the problem lies there in the joints. The joints are poorly engineered and they break in time. And, don't get confused with rattling and vibrations. When the cowls break they don't vibrate on smooth roads. They do rattle on potholes/bad roads.Originally posted by pixantz View PostI understand everybodys love for z'ma. Even I love the bike. Been riding it since last seven years. Vibrations to cowls are caused due to vibrations from engines. Karizma's engine is refined and vibe-free. And, if you want to know what are vibrations, just ride RTR180 once.
And we are mature enough to speak the truth about any bike, be it the one that i own or any other bike. The truth is that I have been using the bike for the past 6.5 years without any vibrations (you know I hate vibrations in any bike while I ride). With broken cowls I have experienced rattling on bad roads, but never vibrations on smooth roads.

Ideally, the mileage shouldn't decrease by more than 2-3 kmpl.Originally posted by blizarder View PostFuel is from habsiguda shell bunk and I follow the full tank method.
