You have to remove the meters from the board, and then get access to the SMD LEDs.....If you have no prior experience with Soldering iron or SMDs..please do not attempt DIY, you will ruin a perfectly working Electronics, which may not be available and will be expensive....not to mention that your bike will not be operational......

I have soldered circuits but nothing like a console before. I'll try it on an old/ruined console first. My mech has a few Pulsar 150 consoles lying around. If I don't get the confidence + the proper wiring diagram for my bike; I WILL NOT attempt this madness.

      • I would love to have cool blue light for my ZMA console. But can't afford to do a DIY.

        • today I went to the ASC to get the air filter. I was shocked to see that the see the operation procedure over there for a zmr. To clean the air filter he just tapped it on the floor twice and fixed it back and for chain lubing and cleaning he just rubbed the whole chain with an old rag and poured some 90grade oil. I talked over there to the senior mechanic about the chain adjusters on the swingarm that they both should be aligned properly but he said that the chain side adjuster only should be adjusted according to the chain slack. the other side of the chain adjuster was not properly adjusted. I am not giving my bike next time to his asc next time.

LOLzzz.. Bro it is HMC ASC.. The attitude, mindset of the mechanics/supervisors are very similar to those shops found by the road side.. I would be mad to really expect them to improve n adapt to newer procedures.. It is no Honda or Yamaha ASC where they would use a machine blower to clean your air filter !! & They still use burnt engine oils as chain lubricants !! God help our bikes..

            • The same complex procedure is used by Maruti SVC.
The mech said, using a machine blower isnt recommended cause it can either close the pores or enlarge the pores based on which side air is blown through. Cant comment on its authenticity though.

                  • How effective are the methods used in non HMC SVCs for cleaning the air filter? I mean, we're just bashing them for no reason whatsoever.
Once an air filter is dirty, it'll remain dirty. Blowing compressed air from the opposite end will remove only the larger particles. Blow too much and the air filter element gets damaged.
One can use the mechanical method - a brush. But the hands better be careful. Scrub too much and the filter is rendered useless.

Hence, tapping the filter is the wisest and safest thing the SVC does (P.S - they're known for creating more issues rather than solving them, we must be grateful to them they're leaving the air filter in a proper state).

I clean the air filter myself in the same way (tapping on the ground) and by using a soft toothbrush every 3-4 k kms and change it around 9-10 k kms.

Good Point.. but again.. thats not gonna make all the dust particles come off.. but we have no other choice but to do these methods..

Yes, that is what I'm trying to say. No method is fool proof. With the inertia method (tapping against a wall/floor), you compromise on the cleaning part. But you can rest assured that the filter is usable.
With the compressed air/brush method, you run a risk of damaging the filter element rendering it useless. Hence, the SVC plays safe.

First of all, let me welcome u back here. Didn't see your posts for quite sometime!
It shouldn't be the battery at fault. Have you been using HIDs/90/100w HLs?

May be the fuse acting weird. Do you ride a lot at night and minimal during daytime? Also, check for circuit failure/loose battery terminals.

                              • Tapping the air filter on the floor will not clean it. You need to use gentle air jet to clean off the dust. And there is a method to blow air on the paper filter so that it effectively cleans the filter, and its explained in the manual.
