Never heard of Mobil1 fakes in the market yet. Its a silver bottle with silver cap, but the dealer said it also comes in dark grey bottles in North India. Verified his claims on a few websites and it seems he was right.

1 L is 'just' sufficient for oil changes. Keep checking the dipstick in due course of time.

    • hello zmrians
i replaced the battery to a new exide vrla z7 and it costed me 1.5k.
i have a query regarding the brake oil, i searched for the dot 4 brake oil but it is not avaiolable anywhere , is it okay to use dot 3 and mix it with the already filled dot 4 brake oil?
and about the tire, i have zeroed down to michelin sirac , he is quoting 2.2k and he will make it tubeless it seems so is there any drawback if changing it from tube type to tubeless and also can you guys suggest me if the price quoted is right

Don't mix DOT3 and DOT4. If you're getting DOT3, pour in DOT3 completely after bleeding out DOT4. You can get DOT4 brake oil at TVS SVCs. Also, you can order them online.
Regarding Michelin TT tire, go for it. Its a good buy. And trust me, no mechanic can convert a TT tire to a TL tire.

What he meant was that, he'll put Michelin Sirac without a tube, but that's not advised. Its a TT tire, use it with a tube.

P.S - There are riders who're using it as a TL tire, but that risk isn't worth taking.

but are you sure the bike in stock would have had dot4 oil, please confirm.
and i can not risk putting a tube tire as i tour a lot so i guess it is a bad idea going for michelin sirac then
are there any riders who are using michelin sirac tubeless and faced problems here ??

            Praj Bro,

Never ever think of mixing Dot-3 & Dot-4. You happen to do this and then you are messed up.
Yes AFAIK my Bike in May-2010 was with Dot-4 but also have seen some new Bikes in Dec-2012 with Dot-3.
Although I am not sure about your Location but go to any 4 Wheeler accesory shop and ask for Dot-4.

Castrol is available and quite decent.
KBX & Motul are very good but not found everywhere. TVs will still do.

Always it is recommended to use a TIRE as mentioned. But again Tube Types can be used as Tubeless.
But make sure it is done very nicely since in most cases there is a faint gap between Tire & Rim which makes it difficult.

Had been using michelin M-62 as Tubeless in front from Sep-2012 and had some issues.
Once the Rim was painted it was gone. Although not aware of current status since bike is also gone

Praj, please understand that Michelin is a TT tire from factory. It has softer sidewalls than a TL tire. In case, if you're using it use with a tube.

<2011 ZMA came with TT tires and people toured on them.

My ZMR came with DOT3 fluid from factory/showroom. Read the reservoir cap (beside front brake lever). It says DOT3 or DOT4.
Use DOT4 as it has a higher boiling point and results in less brake fade. But you don't have an option if its not available, do you?

Try MRF Vyde 120mm. Else Zapper Q. Its 110mm.

Brake fluid you can't say. DOT3/4/5/5.1 come in multiple colors.
Just get DOT4 and put it. Its mentioned on the brake fluid reservoir cap too.

Will let you know how it performs once I get back from the tour

Hey Prajwal, BTW MRF Vyde is available in 100mm section also. Its a round profile tyre but softer compound. Do give it a try as well in case you're "not" looking for an upsize.
And one more thing, everytime you replace the brake pads/change the grade of brake oil; the old oil MUST entirely be flushed out and then brakes must be properly bled!

Thanks for the suggestion mate.. I will do it as I am in the tail position.. its definitely needed for me

One more question.. Can you please get me some photos of where you have pasted the rubber tubes to arrest the vibrations...?? I am thinking to get it done this weekend.. hence it will be helpful for me..

                              Cheers..
The pics would help me too bro. To show the mech. You yourself heard the vibes!

I have put the tube strips prominently at 2 places:
                                1. Around the meter console.
                                2. Under the fairing above the front fender holding the number plate.

Clicked pics now @ night hence please bear the quality from my phone cam.
