Not sure what the newer ZMRs sprockets are coming with. The older zmas were coming with ROLON as stock. I can vouch on the quality of them. Lasted almost 60K on my ZMA.

Things happen buddy.. they initially dont wanna open the engine as customers don prefer the engine opened.. so they try to resolve the issue without going deep.. later if that s not fixed.. they go for thd next step.. opening the engine ll be the last option..

I agree with you; but they had opened the engine; change spares including valves; later on a week found the same parts are broken inside the engine...now this is totally careless work....

BTW...may be in week i am going to change the rear tyre to PSD 110.....

The thread is dormant nowadays... Wake up people. Happy Labor's day to all!

I have a query here. The exhaust pipe in my bike has developed a layer of rust (visible under the fairing). Everything is ok mechanically. What is the most effective way of getting rid of it?

Seriously.. no posts in 2 days.. Happy Labor's day bro..

Regarding the rust.. it happens because we don't dry that spot after a water wash due to the fairing.. not sure what to do about it.. but yes.. i have noticed that on my Black Pearl too.. when I used to clean it myself.. I used to dry off the water from all possible areas.. but after a water wash by the service guys.. i never noticed to clean it and it got rusted..

If you find any solution.. please do let me know..

to remove rust...open the complete part then use steel wool pad with soap and rub it....

Also, i think WD40 can be used as it is rust removal spray....

Well for cleaning, you can go for high pressure washing and then use SOS pad (steel wool pad with soap in it), then rinse. or wire brush can also be used.
Then to protect it from further rusting, that will depend on your budget… On the expensive side you can get the pipe powered coated or chrome plated.
On the cheaper side, use WD40 every time before riding because that will "cook off” due to high temperature. hence re-applying the treatment each day.

The type of powder coating on ZMA and ZMR silencers are the same(Quality wise I meant), They are not good heat resistant powder coating. Over a period of time it will give way. nothing to worry though. Using WD 40 will serve no good.If you are so worried you can get it powder coated again, but that will also eventually give way. Been there done that.

I presume you are all talking about this type of rusting. I've noticed this rather lazily and since then cannot get it off my mind. Can't we just use sand paper to clean it and then apply asian paint over it

Any sort of paint will come peeling off to that heat...have to live with it or keep doing powder coating as and when it seems rusted...
