Ans: pushing it too hard mate. So, simply just give a slight shove instead of a huge kick. that's it. moreover, if u can't lock the front handlebar. what do u do? move the key to off position & then again to the lock position. U've got to do something similar.
I get it done 100% of the time. Though it did take me 4-5 days to learn the same.
This shud not be one of ur "reasons" to not choose the ZMR.I'll tell u with the ZMR u'll get the highest fuel efficiency amongst premium bikes. Gives a constant 38-40. Tho I do a lot of clutch riding. + Awesome pickup. Even better than R15 V2.0 with a top speed of 128 km/h which is enough for our Indian roads. Only problem I wud say are the tires. They shud've been at least a 120/130 profile which wud make us feel @ home @ high speeds.
If u want a reliable bike go for ZMR, CBR, R15. If u want a VFM package go for 200ns, Duke200 or CBR 250. To be frank ZMR, R15 & CBR 150 are overpriced if u look from the point of view of price-to-bhp ratio. But, bhp is not everything. I'd have bought a CBR 250 but it was way too pricey for me. So, I went wid the ZMR. Also, Duke200 is for the young & gaudy. So, kindly test ride the bike to see if it suits ur tastes.
@Night_Shade Which profile Michelin tires have u got in front?

This was happening in both directions - up & down - 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st. One reason I found it so unusual could be because I'm used to a Honda Unicorn since last 8 years, which IMHO provides one of the smoothest and most sure-slotted gear shifts among Indian bikes. (I've had even worse experience with some Bajaj bikes, where they'd not only miss the neutral, but also a whole gear at times! Seriously, I'm not exaggerating. )
