Hi All, I am new to Xbhp and quite surprised to know that people discuss so extensively about biking. This is my first post and I would certainly need some time to get used to creating travelogue like many in the site. I would be grateful if someone could help me with it.
I currently own a ZMR bought in march 2013 and my odometer reads 16,580 at present. Yesterday I came back from the long trip, covering Varkala and Kanyakumari on the way(total 1608 kms). I would like to create a travelogue for it, but don't know where to start.

      Welcome to XBHP Shashank!
16.5k kms in 8 months is great.

dude In my opinion, i guess all these problems occured because of your installation of the Perfomance Filter "Simota" which you had fitted earlier !! not sure though...

Can't say if all problems happened due to that, but yes a few. Plus, he rode for approx 20k kms with the Simota.

Hmmm maybe. But i've learnt a great lesson. Let the bike be as it is! LOL! Even the HIDs are a waste. Halogens like nightbreakers are sufficient. Factory design is the best. If you needed a better performance, you needed to choose a better bike. So learn to live with what you have. Divya Sharan- 20k kms? No bro, It was just 10-15k kms i guess. But enough to have done the damage if any!

And are these the brushes for the fuel pump?

I noticed something. After changing the Stator Plate, the headlight intensity is better now. Is it just my mind playing the game? Not sure but i have a feel the intensity is much better.. yippeeee..

Previously, there was not enough power. Now there is enough to brighten the headlight.

@rreneav1987, checked yesterday with another ZMR and compared the light. Osram NBP without relay is around 30% brighter than stock. With relay setup, its more than 50% brighter than stock. The difference with and without relay is around 20%.

So, getting a relay makes sense.

Get one from extreme and fit. Open the brake switch and take it to spare shop. Get one from similar make of Minda or swiss and fit.

There is no possible way for it to go kaput. Remove the brake switch. Open it amd clean it inside..

                          1. Make sure the button of the switch touches the brake lever and if it doesnt. Its time to replace the front brake lever.. you can also have a temporary jugaad.. use the insulation tape at the point of contact on the brake lever take it as thick as possible so that it presses the switch.. it worked for me till i removed the tape for some stupid reason..

                          2. If the above is fine, remove the brake switch, open it and clean the small terminals and ensure the button of the switch doesnt move up and down..

                          Attached pics..

If still the problem persists, then time to change the switch..

If the issue still persists.. time to chanfe the lever costs a matter of 40/- and the lever will cost you max 100/-

I initially fixed the switch, worked for few days.. but the button wears out which is the only reason you might have to change the complete switch for.. then i changes the switch, the issue started again after few months.. then had to replace the brake lever too along with the switch..

You can use the Karizma switch as well..

With relay we use better wire say 2.5-4 sq.mm and stock use max 1 sq.mm wire, the current can pass without heating wires hence we get optimum power to the bulbs.

Thanks for the info. Yesterday, I was wondering what is making the difference in light output. So, its the wire. Less thick wire might have been used keeping in view the 35W bulb.
