I see this going the iPhone way...(for those who have been living under an iceberg) Apple launched the uber-expensive iPhone 5s and the fugly 5c. This move boosted the sales of the existing iPhone 5 and the outdated iPhone4 to such an extent that Apple relaunched the iPhone4 specifically for the Indian Market. I can literally see this happening to the ZMA/ZMR.

How difficult is it for HMC to simply bin the fugly fairing and relaunch the ZMA/ZMR twins with minimal plastics and a round headlamp(like the old HH Ambition)?

Every iteration is getting worse with each passing day..

Glad to know that everyone from that ride are safe, do you have link of their travelogue uploaded on xbhp or anywhere else?

Nope bro. I dnt hv any link of their travelogue. It was basically incredibly cold + vry vry slippery roads. They wer unable to grip the clutch properly. Evryone fell except the guy on the blue R15 (2nd from ryt). They had to tk firewood from Bomdilla to warm themselves on the way. Another thing which saved them was a fog light on a cbr150 (like the Ducati Panigale headlights) wich they said was vry vry hot, like fire. 7 riders went initialy, but only 6 of them returned, as one of them discontinued the ride after seeing the conditions in Bomdilla (a stopover for tawang route).

He he, true! But, try avoiding highways in your running-in period in the first place. You should always keep varying your rpm, across all gears, and a normal city ride should make you do just that
How many km have you done so far?

Highways are preferred for run in.. taking the bike for a short long ride is always welcome short long ride - 100 kms ride

Different people, different methods. Do a chennai-vellore trip at speeds not exceeding 65-70 kmph. Keep varying the rpm and take a 20-25 min break every 60-70 kms.

Well, I'm no guru of the running-in process, but from whatever I've read and researched so far, varying your gears and engine rpm constantly is highly recommended by everyone.

Highways are better avoided in this period because one tends to ride on the top gear at more or less constant rpm.

Refer to this popular break-in guide, that specifically advises to avoid "freeways", during running in:

BTW, can anyone tell me if we can adjust the angle of the rear brake paddle of the ZMR?
I'd like to set the default position a bit lower, so that I don't have to constantly strain my right ankle while I'm NOT depressing the brake paddle.
To ensure that I'm not accidentally pressing the brake I always end up straining my ankle muscles. I do not feel the same strain on left ankle because I normally rest the left foot under the gear shift lever. Now I can't safely do the same thing with my right foot, at least within city limits! Has anyone faced the same problem? I'm hypothesizing that in my case, it's because of my long legs that my right foot is making a very acute angle with the shin causing the strain.

Nope. That's certainly not applicable to Indian roads. If you ride a brand new bike in a city like ours, you'll end up over-heating your clutch plates. And thats why the next safe bet are highways. Though the roads maybe free, you have the freedom to either slow down or do whatever rpm changes you need to which definitely is not possible in cities. Also now a days, highways are also getting kinda congested. So no.major difference. Only avoid using clutch frequently. Cause even for a well-seasoned bike, frequent uses of clutch is both bad for engine and clutch plates. And cities are the place where we need clutch the most.
