Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
They offered me as well.. I didn't opt for it as it was not worth it at all.. though I still get the services done at the Authorized service center.. haven't had any huge issues til now except the Stator Plate was burnt from day 1 and i had issues with the battery charging.. No idea boss. I feel they may not be as good as the website makes them look like. But I'd not say false stuff without experiencing their services.Originally posted by sarkartheruler View PostSafexbikes.com anyone?

No idea!! Never or heard o this website.. I would be the last person to comment on such things...Originally posted by sarkartheruler View PostAny advice on purchasing from this website www.safexbikes.com
They have a lot of spare parts including STICKERS... A bit tempted to get it from here than go to the showroom, who are a bit reluctant to order.

Karizma ZMR engine Lugging sound !!
Hi all,
I need help for my karizma zrm, which is giving lugging sound in 4 & 5th gear. The engine runs perfectly in the start , but once it gets heated and there is a load on the engine(like a pillion or a ride uphill), it starts giving lugging sound like tak- tak-tak ..... which also feels like some steel sheet vibrating. I dnt hear it often and the bikes runs well on the straight highways, but the lugging start when the engine is heated or i m climbing hills with a pillion.
I was searching for the same issue and came to know that this problem is prominent with karizma engine as well as CBR 150 & 250. The suggestion from the net was to change the engine oil brand and cam tensioner. I was thinking to change the air filter to improve the torque output of the bike, which may help the minimize the lugging sound, Will it be helpful?
Want to know if any of you have faced the same issue and how u rectified it.

I never faced any issue like this in the 1.5 years and 9K km I've had it for.Originally posted by NitinRamola View PostI was searching for the same issue and came to know that this problem is prominent with karizma engine as well as CBR 150 & 250.
Guys do you think this tankpad looks good on the Red ZMR?

Re: Karizma ZMR engine Lugging sound !!
Its due to the quality of Engine oil. Which brand and grade oil are you using? I used to face this issue a lot when i was using Motul 300V 20W50 oil grade 2 yrs back.. then i changed to Shell Rimula R4 and it was arrested for quite some time.. now shiftes to Shell AX7 and it is better... this sure has to do with the oilOriginally posted by NitinRamola View PostHi all,

Hi
so far i have given the bike to service center only and the oil is as recommended Hero synthetic oil grade 10w30. I have also read somewhere that the problem is cause due to incorrect engine oil.
I have one doubt will the warranty voids for the engine if i will start using engine oil apart from Hero.
There are two variant for the Shell AX7 SAE J 300 10W-40 and 15W-50 , which one would be better to use..
Regards
Nitin

Re: Karizma ZMR engine Lugging sound !!
Note that it never says that explicitly in the owner's manual. It only 'recommends' Hero's engine oil. And certain other kinds of engine oils are discouraged.Originally posted by NitinRamola View PostI have one doubt will the warranty voids for the engine if i will start using engine oil apart from Hero.
But there is no need to tell the service manager that you used a different oil.
We should use 10W-40

Re: Karizma ZMR engine Lugging sound !!
I wouldn't recommend putting in just 1L. When I tried that, the gearbox was very hard. Then purchased another 1L and topped off. After that bike was smooth.Originally posted by NitinRamola View PostHi ,

Re: Karizma ZMR engine Lugging sound !!
1. Engine oil grade you're using is too thin for summer. Use 10w40 or 15w40 grade oil.Originally posted by NitinRamola View Posta pillion or a ride uphillsound like tak- tak-tak ..... steel sheet vibrating.lugging start when the engine is heated or i m climbing hills with a pillion.
2. Get the tappets adjusted.
Engine oil brand is one's choice, but grade has to be chosen wisely. Leave the cam tensioner for now. What is your ODO reading? The suggestion from the net was to change the engine oil brand and cam tensioner.
P.P.S - An air filter doesn't increase torque!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
