              Well no new issues...old issues still remain!

              1. Low Batt Indicator on idling with headlight. (No solution yet!)
              2. High NVH levels after long highspeed runs. (Solved 50%, replaced crank bearing)
              3. Engine oil drinking problem (root cause found, apparently!)

              Apart from that I need to get my headlight assembly and speedo cable replaced (bike shows an indicated 199Kmph in neutral when I go full throttle ), thanks to a splendor wala doing disco on road in Ooty!

              Odo is stuck at some 36.6K, I've done about 700 kms after that! So bike is now about 37K+...

                            • My bike has done 4000 K.M. in 18 months. As you can gather the bike hasn't been used a lot (what can I do, my office is close to my house) but the amount of problems seems to be disproportionately high.
                              Engine oil has been changed at almost every service and all the services till now have been completed according to schedule.
                              First paid service (3500 KM) changed -
                              * Spark plug
                              * Air filter
                              * Engine oil.

                              After a couple of weeks the bike started giving starting problems -
                              * RPM meter used to get stuck sometimes on zero
                              * Rear brake was screeching again.

                              I went to the service center again and they replaced the fuel filter this time and they cleaned the rear brake.

                              That evening the troubles started again, the starting problem had gotten even worse when the bike has been parked for a while so I have to keep pumping the throttle in neutral to keep it above 2000 RPM otherwise the engine shuts down. The rear brake started screeching within a week and the bike's average nosedived as well.
                              A new problem that cropped up is that the fuel meter displays empty when the bike starts and it takes around 3-4 KM traveling to get it to report the correct amount of fuel left.
                              Either Bajaj bikes are generally terrible quality or I am being robbed by Bajaj's Pro Biking service center.

                                The oil wouldn't have been used much. When they drained the oil, was it residual black in color? Did you cover the bike when you parked it? If not, yes there would be dust clogged in the air filter. Spark plugs are supposed to last 10,000 KMs. I don't know why they changed it.

                                Why did they replace fuel filter for starting problems? It could be a ECU/Solenoid problem too. Rear brake screeches if you do not use it frequently and the dust seeps between the disk pads and the disk. Or if there is some corrosion at the disk due to water not being wiped. As you ride it frequently, you will notice the screeching sound will go.

                                Possible scenarios:
                                1) It is a fuel filter problem and they did not actually replace the fuel filter (unlikely).
                                2) It is NOT a fuel filter problem, the ServiceStation people without checking the problem properly just came to a conclusion it is because of the fuel filter. Check solenoid/ECU. (this is more likely)
                                3) Maybe the CO setting is not adjusted properly. (also unlikely)

                                I don't think the ServiceStation guys are doing their job properly. If they changed the disk pads, then regular usage of it won't make a screeching sound. Unless your disk is the problem.
                                How you do you check the average? You are reporting fuel meter problems. If you are using the fuel filter to analyze and calculate your average fuel consumption, you will go horribly wrong. Use tank-up method.

                                That was a common problem in your batch of P220s. It is rectified in the current batch. You could try to talk to the showroom people to change your fuel sensor under warranty.

                                I think it is the latter.
