  • @shaktisingh:The running is very low! So if you are not riding the bike, the low charge on battery triggers other electrical problems.

Please tell me the exact month and year of purchase.

Been very busy in office. Not getting much time to be here. 14hrs +

Ok guys need an advice. Am going on a short trip towards Chail & other places tonight. There is a bit of problem showing up in my bike. Hope its not that serious. When I am revving the bike in neutral or crossing 60+, there is a slight noice coming from the silencer part. Like something is loose. There is no difference in performance. My trip would cover somewhere around 700kms. So was wondering is there any major concern for me??

Spoke to 2-3 people. They said its not much of a concern.

        • Guys,
Yesterday while going home i heard a weird noise from the bike.... whenever i used to open the throttle, sounded like some kind of nut is loose around the exhaust pipe which comes out from the engine .
Got shit scared so went home at a speed of 40 .

Today morning when i started the bike , there was no sound. However after a few kms... that horrifying noise came again....

it increases when i accelerate fast .

Though i am going to PBK tomorrow.... anybody faced this kind of issue already...

exact same kind of problem was noticed in DarthVeda's friend's bike on a recent trip. I wonder if this is a production related issue with the newer 220s?

                  check the engine oil level..
before that happened to me, the engine oil level was full in the inspection window!!!
soon the oil started leaking and had white smoke out of the exhaust.
though this problem might be independant of the sound issue!? i dont know..

                  • Okay I'll try to answer the queries -
                    * The bike is always covered when parked at home. Air filter was changed anyway at first paid service.
                    * I did not see the oil being drained as I left my bike for servicing and came back to pick it up 5 hours later (that was the estimate given to me).
                    * The service guy listened to the engine note and throttle response then claimed that it was a fuel filter issue.
                    * Rear disc is used all the time because of traffic/ road conditions. I had gotten the rear disc opened and cleaned around 14 months back (the service guy scraped it clean).
                    * The service guy changed the fuel filter in front of me and adjusted the CO setting (I'm assuming this is done with a screwdriver near the right side footrest).
                    * Yeah the fuel average problem might be due to the fuel meter going haywire. I'll recheck this.
                    * I'll talk to the service center to get fuel meter fixed.
                    * The low battery charge icon is not flashing on the dash.
                    * The bike is a September 2007 model.

I had a similar problem with the bike not idling properly. Later it was found that the culprit was the ECU. Do check that out as well.

as u have HID on ur p220, i wanted to know if changing to hid would void the warranty.
if not, which is the best hid for low beam??

I think it would void the battery warranty.

What I have put is a Phillips 35W 6000K kit.

The ideal kit is 35W 4300K. 6000K is a bit bluer.

It doesn't give any battery problems, I have been using every night since 3 weeks now.

It is 35W while stock bulbs are 55W. It will not drain the setup.
While startup of the HIDs, it will take 5-7 seconds to be at 100% brightness. But that is not due to battery drainage. It is commong with all HIDs.
